Marriott International has inked a deal to bring a St. Regis resort to the increasingly popular Costa Mujeres, near Cancún, Mexico.
“We are thrilled to expand St. Regis’ footprint in Mexico and look forward to bringing the brand’s celebrated rituals and traditions to this vibrant and sought-after destination for future guests,” said George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
Let’s take a look at everything we know so far about The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort!
The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort To Open in 2025
Located just over a half hour north of Cancún, Costa Mujeres is quickly becoming a hot destination on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
In 2025, Marriott will plant its luxury flag permanently in the area with the opening of The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort.
“We are thrilled to work with AB Living to introduce The St. Regis brand to Costa Mujeres, Cancun’s exciting new side of town,” said Laurent De Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer, Marriott International. “This signing showcases both the continuous growth in one of Mexico’s top destinations and the strong interest in our portfolio of sought-after luxury brands.”
The upcoming St. Regis resort will be set on an idyllic, almost-9-acre beachfront site, providing guests with stunning views and easy access to beautiful beaches and to Isla Mujeres, an island that’s been drawing visitors for years.
The resort itself will boast 158 guest rooms and 80 branded residential units, offering views of Isla Mujeres, the ocean, and the city of Cancún. According to Marriott, the resort will have 3 outlets for eating and drinking, multiple swimming pools, a “glamorous beach club,” and more to offer guests.

St. Regis Continues Its Expansion in Mexico
With just 15 resort properties open currently around the world, the St. Regis brand is planning to expand more aggressively over the coming years.
In Mexico alone, it’s set to more than double its footprint in the next several years. Right now, it operates The St. Regis Mexico City and The St. Regis Puna Mita Resort, with The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya opening in December 2022 and The St. Regis Los Cabos expect in 2023.
Final Thoughts
Marriott sees a bright future for the St. Regis brand in Mexico, as indicated by the announcement of yet another development, this time in newly trendy Costa Mujeres.
When The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort opens in 2025, Marriott Bonvoy members will have yet another high-end beach resort at which they can earn and redeem points. Time will tell whether it’s going to cost you dearly to stay at this property, but judging by other St. Regis resorts, this slice of paradise won’t come cheap.
