A new Marriott Bonvoy hotel is coming to Tampa — and it’s high-end EDITION property.
Here’s what you need to know!
Tampa Gets Fifth U.S. EDITION property
The Tampa EDITION has a soft-opening phase scheduled from September 20, 2022, with plans for a full launch in October.
It’s planning to pack a punch when it finally does open. Marriott is billing the new EDITION as Tampa’s first “five-star experience.” The hotel boasts 26 stories with 172 rooms and nearly 40 private residencies. Additionally, the EDITION will feature:
A rooftop terrace with a pool
Pool club with cabanas for day and night, open to hotel guests and residents only
Spa and wellness facility
Fitness center
7 bars and restaurants, including an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant from a Michelin-starred chef
The EDITION is located in the all-new Water Street district of Tampa, which is a $3.5 billion development project. The area is also home to a couple of other Marriott properties, the 4-star Tampa Marriott Water Street and the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street.
“Not often have I had the opportunity to work on a project that will completely transform the very center and heartbeat of a great city like Tampa, and make it even greater,” said EDITION creator Ian Schrager in a statement.
“I call it urban expansion, rather than urban renewal, and it serves as a model for how cities will transform and evolve [for] the future. The scale of it is mind-boggling, and we’re very happy to be right here and a part of it,” the statement continued.
Such luxury won’t come cheap. Cash prices for a standard 405 square-foot superior king room start at $499 for dates in the fall.
If you want to use Marriott Bonvoy points, expect to shell out a significant amount: award rates start at 85,000 points per night for a king room. Luckily, Marriott Bonvoy points are easy to earn through Marriott stays, credit card welcome bonuses, or transferring points from partners.
