Grab-and-go airport lounges are gaining popularity among travelers who do not have time to sit down for a meal and relax.

United Airlines has opened its second grab-and-go club location, this time at its Houston (IAH) hub. Here’s what you need to know.

United Club Fly Opens in Houston

United Airlines has opened a United Club Fly location at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)‘s Terminal B. The lounge concept differs from United Club locations in that it is catered to travelers on the go.

The United Club Fly offers self-scan entry, so you won’t have to worry about long lines at check-in.

There is a limited selection of food and drinks, including orange juice, pastries, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. The cafe also has a full-service coffee bar, a reusable water bottle refilling station, and non-alcoholic drinks.

“Designed for on-the-go United Club members, Club Fly offers a club experience that matches the ways travelers’ needs have evolved, especially when they’re pressed for time,” said Alexander Dorow, who heads United’s Club and Lounge Program. “Not all customers travel the same way and that encourages us to constantly look at new opportunities to add value to our club program and support travelers throughout their entire journey.”

The United Club Fly Houston will be available to United Club members as well as premium cabin travelers flying internationally. Indeed, the airline says that more than half of the customers at IAH are connecting passengers. That means the grab-and-go experience should prove popular for travelers trying to catch a flight.

This is the second United Club Fly location, with the first opening in Denver (DEN) in 2022.

United isn’t the only lounge network offering a slimmed-down experience. Capital One offers a takeaway selection at the Capital One Lounge in Dallas (DFW), Air Canada offers an Air Canada Café concept in Toronto (YYZ), and Delta Air Lines offers a grab-and-go option at several of its lounges.

Final Thoughts

United has opened its second grab-and-go club in Houston, offering snacks, drinks, and seamless entry for premium travelers. The concept probably won’t make sense for travelers with more spare time. However, for busy travelers, grabbing a snack and drinking before a flight should be a welcome amenity.
