Wells Fargo continues to improve its travel offering, with a new Wells Fargo Travel portal now live for cardholders.

The issuer has joined competitors such as American Express, Capital One, and Chase in building out its proprietary travel platform to offer cardholders more capabilities and features, hoping to keep them interacting with the ecosystem more consistently.

Here’s what you can expect from the new and improved Wells Fargo Travel platform.

Updated Wells Fargo Travel Platform Now Live

Wells Fargo cardholders can now access an improved Wells Fargo Travel platform, designed to provide greater flexibility and a more seamless booking process for travel experiences across the spectrum.

The upgraded platform offers simpler navigation and more effective search and filtering tools to better display flight, hotel, car rental, and activity options.

Cardholders will also have far more to choose from, with over 1 million accommodations, 500 airlines, and 2,000 rental car places in more than 50 countries, and at least 300,000 “curated activities and experiences worldwide.”

The latest version of Wells Fargo Travel leans more heavily on hotels, with the platform now able to promote unique partnerships that offer greater value. Additionally, cardholders can access elite-like perks, including complimentary breakfast, early check-in, late checkout, and special on-property benefits, thanks to a partnership with the platform’s “Virtuoso-affiliated travel provider.”

This perk doesn’t have a specific program name, but it’s easy to see how Wells Fargo Travel is trying to compete with competitor programs like American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Edit by Chase.

Finally, cardholders can now book Southwest Airlines flights directly in the portal using Wells Fargo Rewards points.

Cardholders can access the new Wells Fargo Travel via its website or the mobile app (iOS, Android). Travel can be booked using Wells Fargo Rewards points, cash, or a combination of both.

This news comes on the heels of Wells Fargo Rewards adding new transfer partners in Wyndham Rewards and Cathay Pacific. The issuer also says this is an early step in its portal plans and that cardholders can expect new features soon.

Final Thoughts

Wells Fargo has improved the Wells Fargo Travel portal with new features, easier navigation, and an emphasis on hotel stays to better compete with rivals like American Express, Capital One, and Chase. If you’re a cardholder looking for improvements to the platform, they’ve finally arrived and are available immediately.
