There’s nothing we love more around here at Upgraded Points than finding a good deal on a lie-flat seat across the pond — especially when it doesn’t come with a business-class price tag.

And now, thanks to a new deal with LEVEL, you can fly from the U.S. to London in a true lie-flat seat starting at around $444 one-way. If you’re not familiar, LEVEL is a Spanish airline owned by the International Airlines Group (IAG) — the same parent company behind British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Vueling.

Here’s everything you need to know about this rare transatlantic steal and the best way to book!

Fare Deal — Details

The Spanish low-cost carrier LEVEL is quietly selling what it calls “premium economy” seats from the U.S. to London starting at $444 one-way. In reality, however, these are full reverse-herringbone lie-flat seats typically found in business class. Credit to The Alviator for first reporting this gem.

If you’re curious why you’re getting a lie-flat seat on a “premium economy” fare, in late 2023, LEVEL picked up a pair of former Virgin Australia A330s that already had lie-flat seats up front. Instead of ripping them out or reconfiguring the cabin, LEVEL decided to sell that section as premium economy. That means you’re essentially getting a business-class seat (with direct aisle access and a fully flat bed) for a budget-friendly price.

Best Ways To Book

The cheapest fares we’re seeing start around $444 one-way from New York to London via Barcelona, with Boston departures costing just a few dollars more.

Even travelers on the West Coast can get in on the deal. Fares from Los Angeles start at $930 each way, which is still a steal for a true lie-flat seat across the Atlantic.

To book, your best bet is reserving directly through LEVEL’s website — just make sure to turn off any ad blocker since it can stop the payment page from loading. You’ll also find these fares on Google Flights or Iberia’s website, though Iberia usually prices them a bit higher.

Seat selection starts at about $37, but even with that add-on, it’s still a fantastic deal for a lie-flat to Europe — with the long-haul leg from the U.S. to Barcelona having the lie-flat seats, while the short hop from Barcelona to London on Vueling is just a quick 2-hour ride in regular seats.

Hot Tip:

Since this is a cash fare deal, make sure to use a credit card that earns you bonus points on airfare purchases.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been craving a comfortable way to cross the Atlantic without paying typical business-class prices, this is about as good as it gets. LEVEL’s lie-flat “premium economy” fares deliver serious comfort for a fraction of the usual cost — even with the short flight on Vueling at the end.

Just don’t wait too long to book; deals like this tend to disappear fast once word gets out.
