Virgin Atlantic will have more flights than ever before between the East Coast and the U.K. next summer.

The London-based carrier announced on Thursday that its summer 2024 schedule will see both Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK) welcome an additional daily service from its hub at Heathrow (LHR).

“With Boston and New York, JFK being key business and leisure travel routes, customers can rely on Virgin Atlantic to connect them to these popular destinations as we offer more opportunities to travel with our expanded offering,” said Juha Jarvinen, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic.

Here’s what we know about Virgin’s latest update to its U.S. schedule.

Virgin Adds Additional Daily Flight to Boston and New York

The news of even more Virgin Atlantic flights between the East Coast and London is great news for those living on both sides of The Pond.

Ultimately, it means more choices for passengers, plus the prospect of even more reward seat availability and more chances of snagging an Upper Class ticket for less.

Hot Tip:

Virgin Atlantic connects 12 U.S. cities with nonstop service to the U.K. That kind of coverage is reason enough to make it worth earning as many Virgin Points as possible, which can then be redeemed for cheaper tickets across the Atlantic.

Better still, the additional frequencies will be operated by the state-of-the-art Airbus A330neo and Airbus A350. These are the airline’s most modern aircraft and feature the latest and swankiest edition of Upper Class (business class), which was introduced with the launch of the A350 in 2019.

“By utilising our brand new A350 and A339 aircraft, our passengers can travel in style with Virgin Atlantic, as we commit to operating the routes that our customers love to fly,” said Jarvinen.

The first of the new services to take wing will be to Boston on March 31, 2024 — the start of aviation’s summer season schedule. This will mark Virgin’s second daily service between Boston and London Heathrow.

Two months later, on May 20, 2024, Virgin will add its new service to New York, bringing the total number of daily services from London to 7!

Bottom Line:

Virgin Atlantic is adding additional flights to Boston and New York from London for the summer of 2024. The airline will operate 7 daily flights to New York JFK and 2 daily flights to Boston.

Final Thoughts

The start of Virgin’s summer 2024 schedule on March 31, 2024, will bring with it more connectivity between the East Coast and the U.K.

Not only that, but the added capacity between Boston and New York to London will give Virgin and SkyTeam frequent flyers more ways to earn and spend their points!
