Virgin Australia has launched a promotion through which Velocity members can fast-track their way to elite status.

Through March 31, 2023, members can earn double Status Credits, dramatically reducing the effort required to qualify for elite status in the Velocity program.

“You asked, we listened.” says the airline.

Here’s a look at all the details of this promotion from Virgin Australia.

Earn Double Status Credits With Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia Velocity members will earn double Status Credits on flights that are booked before 11:59 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on February 10, 2023 (8 a.m. EST on February 10, 2023).

The number of Status Credits earned per flight depends on the class of travel. To reach Silver, Gold, and Platinum status, you’ll be required to earn 250, 500, and 1,000 Status Credits, respectively.

To make sure you don’t miss out, sign in to your Velocity account, head to the My Offers section, and register for the promo.

All flights must be flown by March 31, 2023, to qualify for the promotion, which doesn’t leave much time.

Hot Tip: If you happen to be flying in economy with Virgin Australia before April 23, 2023, you could have the chance to win up to 1,000,000 miles! The catch? You must choose to sit in the middle seat on your flight.

The offer applies to all non-codeshare flights across the airline’s entire network including domestic, trans-Tasman, and international routes. Note that Virgin Australia’s international network currently only includes services to Indonesia, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand, Samoa, and Vanuatu.

The Small Print

Do you have several flights to book? Even better. There’s no limit to the number of times you can earn bonus Status Credits with this promotion.

However, you will not earn double Status Credits on Virgin Australia flights booked prior to the launch of the promo.

You’ll only earn the double Status Credits for your originally purchased fare class should you wish to treat yourself to an upgrade.

Flights must be purchased with cash — Velocity Reward Seat bookings are not eligible for the promotion.

Once you’ve completed an eligible flight, it can take up to 4 weeks for the bonus Status Credits to be applied to your account.
