Virgin Red has just launched its biggest-ever welcome bonus on the Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard®.

The 60,000 Boarding Bonus (as Virgin aptly calls it) is available for a limited-time to new applicants from February 18 through March 31, 2025.

Let’s take a look at the details of this new welcome bonus offer.

Virgin Red’s 60,000 Boarding Bonus Offer

The Virgin Red card is relatively new to the U.S. market, having only recently launched in September 2024.

When first launched, the card featured a welcome bonus offer of 40,000 points after meeting minimum spend requirements — which is now 50% more points than the previous offer.

To have the opportunity to earn an enticing 60,000 Virgin Red points, you must apply for the card before March 31 and spend $3,000 within the first 90 days of account opening.

You can sign up for the Virgin Red card here.

You must also make sure to link your Virgin Red account, as this is where the bonus Virgin Points will be deposited.

If you don’t have an account yet, you can sign up for one for free here.

What Can 60,000 Virgin Red Points Get You?

60,000 Virgin Points is an impressive welcome bonus, especially considering the Virgin Red card’s annual fee of only $99.

The bonus points will be transferred directly to the owners’ Virgin Red account where they’ll be able to redeem them on flights, hotel stays, Virgin Voyages cruises, and more.

Let’s take a look at some examples.

5 Round-trips to London in Economy

Virgin Atlantic recently made some changes to the Flying Club — it’s frequent flyer program.

Included in the changes was the introduction of economy class redemptions from the East Coast to London for just 6,000 Virgin Points + ~$70 in taxes and fees.

With that, the 60,000 welcome bonus would be enough to get you 5 economy round-trip tickets between the U.S. and London.

Round-trip to London in Business Class

Virgin Atlantic’s lowest business class redemptions between the East Coast and London are now just 29,000 Virgin Points, plus taxes and fees.

After some quick calculations, you realize that the 60,000 welcome bonus is enough for a round-trip to London in business class.

Hot Tip:

When booking Virgin Atlantic business class, we’d recommend making sure you’re flying one of the carrier’s Airbus A350 or Airbus A330neo aircraft as these jets feature the airline’s most modern cabins in all classes.

Final Thoughts

A welcome bonus of 60,000 points is quite impressive for a card that has an annual fee of only $99. It’s even more tempting when considering you only need to spend $3,000 in 90 days (that’s around $1,000 per month) to unlock the bonus.

Given the generous pricing of Virgin Atlantic Flying Club awards, your only challenge may be determining the best way to redeem your Virgin points.
