Virgin Atlantic has debuted a new inflight menu to coincide with the changing of the seasons, and passengers will enjoy the new dishes on flights departing from April 5, 2023.

“We’re pleased to mark the return of warmer days with an enhanced food and drinks service onboard,” said Corneel Coster, chief customer and operating officer and Virgin Atlantic. “At Virgin Atlantic we’re always working to create unique and personal experiences for our customers, and delicious dishes and refreshments never go unnoticed.”

Knife and fork at the ready — let’s dig in.

What’s New in Upper Class

Passengers flying in the airline’s Upper Class (business class) will get to choose from a slew of new dishes, such as a lobster and crab tortellini, a vegetarian poke bowl, and a Pimms summer pudding.

The airline’s order-anytime menu will also feature some delicious new dishes like a classic club sandwich and an aloo tikki, served with pepper pakora, tomato and onion salad, and sweet tomato and chili chutney.

There’ll also be a new dessert option, by way of a strawberries and cream flavored Northern Bloc ice cream.

Hot Tip: Virgin Atlantic might be a U.K.-based airline, but that doesn’t stop you earning a ton of Virgin Points to redeem on flights between the U.S. and the U.K. and beyond!

Also in Upper Class, Whispering Angel rosé wine and teapigs peach iced tea will join the beverage list to accompany the new menu additions. The former will be available for just 6 months before the autumn and winter menu switchover.

New Menu Items in Premium and Economy

Passengers in Premium will also enjoy some new onboard delights like a quintessentially British chicken pie, as well as a spinach and ricotta tortellini with sage butter sauce, roasted pumpkin, and a caper panko crumb.

And in economy, a new honey barbecue chicken thigh with Portuguese rice and steamed vegetables will be offered, as well as a farfalle pasta in a spinach ricotta cheese and roasted garlic sauce.

Seasonal and Commemorative Dishes This Spring

Virgin passengers will also get to enjoy special menu additions for Easter and the coronation of King Charles.

Over the course of Easter weekend, Cocoba chocolate lollies will be available to all passengers on flights from the U.K. to the U.S. and the Caribbean.

And to help celebrate the King’s Coronation on May 6, 2023, Upper Class passengers will be welcomed onboard with a mini bottle of Lanson Black Label, while a special Mile High Tea will be served to Upper and Premium passengers over the same weekend.

No seasonal menu overhaul would be complete without changes to the offering in the Virgin Clubhouse, too. The airline has launched a new partnership with Full Circle Farms, which will provide fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables for Clubhouse dishes.

Final Thoughts

Passengers flying with Virgin this spring and summer are in for a treat with the introduction of the airline’s new menu items.

Trust us on the chicken pie — you won’t regret it!
