With the turning of the seasons has come a menu update from Virgin Atlantic across all its cabins.

Passengers will be able to savor the new inflight options on flights departing from October 4, 2023.

“We’re delighted to introduce our new onboard menu, marking the return of the season that makes our customers crave some winter sun,” said Corneel Koster, Chief Customer and Operating Officer at Virgin. “At Virgin Atlantic, we’re always looking to create memorable moments onboard, which is why we strive to offer an unmatched, contemporary, and extensive selection of dishes across our cabins.”

Get your tastebuds ready as we dive into the details!

Upper Class

Virgin is mixing things up for the most important meal of the day by introducing an à la carte breakfast menu.

Menu items include yogurt, fresh fruit, and pastries in addition to a range of healthy granola and cereals packed with fiber. A so-called “Express Breakfast” will also be available to be served about 40 minutes before landing. Options include a bacon roll or a sweet pastry.

New main dishes to be served for lunch and dinner include serrano ham with roasted squash, pickled red onion, and feta cheese; herb roasted chicken breast; and roasted trout filet.

In addition to the meat dishes above, the airline is showing its commitment to its vegetarian and vegan passengers with the addition of options such as carrot tartare with whipped ricotta; spinach and ricotta tortellini; spiced apple and parsnip soup; and a Beyond burger with pickled onions, vegan cheese, and vegan mayonnaise.

As part of the Extra Bites menu, there’ll be not 1, but 2 types of the quintessentially British scone: a sultana scone, and a white chocolate and orange scone. Accompaniments will come in the form of clotted cream, morello cherry jam, and lemon curd.

On the savory side, passengers will be able to snack on cashew satay chicken, spiced lamb flatbread, and, last — but certainly not least — bao buns!

No menu update would be complete without new drink options and Virgin delivers here, too. Passengers will be able to select from Real sparkling tea, Perfect Ted matcha, and Lo Bros kombucha.

For the oenophiles, additions include a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a Côtes du Rhône, and an Italian Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Classico.

Hot Tip:

Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club program is a favorite for booking high-value award tickets. Here’s how you can earn tons of Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for your next redemption!

Premium Economy

The hearty, wholesome, and comforting new choices in premium economy sound delicious. Passengers will have the option of a chicken lasagna; a sage and thyme pork stew; or a panko-coated tofu with katsu vegetable curry.

Also coming to premium economy for the first time will be a brilliantly British cheese plate with vintage cheddar; Blacksticks Blue cheese; fig jelly, and grapes with olive oil and sea salt crackers.

Pre-Ordering Comes to (Some) Economy Passengers

A big change for those sitting in Economy Delight (Virgin’s extra-legroom economy product) comes by way of the ability to pre-order main courses — similar to what premium and Upper passengers are used to.

New dishes will include a chicken, leek, and tarragon casserole and a creamy spinach and butternut squash pasta. Both meal options will be accompanied by Cathedral City cheddar and a Pots & Co plant-based chocolate pot.

Final Thoughts

If you’re flying with Virgin Atlantic this fall, look out for new menu options across all cabin classes. These new additions look downright delicious to us — especially that chicken lasagna for premium economy passengers!
