voco is expanding its presence in Japan by signing a new hotel in Hiroshima.

Here’s what you need to know.

voco’s Second Property in Japan

Not much is known about the voco Hiroshima, a new construction with 301 guest rooms next to Hiroshima station.

Amenities will include an outdoor cafe and meeting space. The hotel will also be located near the Atomic Bomb Dome, which is a World Heritage Site.

“We hope that the construction of voco Hiroshima will contribute to the further development of the local tourism industry by promoting voco’s unique global brand power and the wonderful attractions of Hiroshima,” said Takahiro Yamamoto, Director of Development, IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan.

voco Hiroshima will open for guests in mid-2027.

When it opens, voco Hiroshima will become Japan’s second hotel. The first, voco Osaka Central, opened last year and has nearly 200 guest rooms and suites.

Booking IHG Hotels & Resorts in Japan

Unfortunately, voco Hiroshima isn’t scheduled to open for a few more years. Luckily, IHG has an impressive presence across Japan, where you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points.

IHG has nearly 50 properties open in Japan under 7 hotel brands: InterContinental, Kimpton, ANA Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, and voco. An additional 8 hotels are under development and include luxury brands like Six Senses and Vignette Collection.

For instance, 1 of the best options for redeeming IHG points in the country is at the ANA InterContinental Tokyo.

The 5-star resort is known for its high-end offerings, from a 35th-floor Club InterContinental to an open-air swimming pool to nearly a dozen food and beverage options.

For a luxury hotel, rates with cash or IHG One Rewards are competitively priced. For dates this spring, a one-night stay starts at just $347 nightly.

And if you want to use points, you can find award stays for just 68,000 points per night.

Hot Tip:

Earning IHG One Rewards points is pretty simple, as you can transfer Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards at a 1:1 ratio. You can also earn points through a welcome bonus offer and daily spending on 1 of the best cards for IHG travelers.

Final Thoughts

voco, 1 of IHG’s premier brands, is expanding in Japan with a new property in Hiroshima. While we don’t know much about the property yet, this is a great chance to explore IHG’s other luxury hotels and resorts across Japan!
