IHG’s voco brand is on a roll, with lots of new hotels in the pipeline. Today, another new opening has been announced — voco Seoul Myeongdong. This property, which will be the brand’s second in South Korea, is due to open later this year.

Here are the details of this new voco hotel in South Korea.

The Second Voco Hotel in South Korea To Open in 2024

IHG Hotels & Resorts is one of the biggest hotel companies in the world, and voco is its fastest-growing premium brand. Following the successful opening of voco Seoul Gangnam in 2022, IHG has announced another South Korean location — voco Seoul Myeongdong. This 576-room property is currently being renovated and is due to open in mid-2024.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of voco Seoul Myeongdong – a fantastic property that adds to the great momentum of IHG’s fastest-growing brand. This is a great example of the impressive growth opportunities we’re seeing in South Korea, where we’re eager to build upon the success of voco Seoul Gangnam, which introduced the brand to the market in 2022, since when it’s been captivating guests with its unique character and charm,” said James Oh, Korea representative, IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Located in the popular Myeongdong district in Seoul, this new voco hotel aims to attract both business and leisure travelers. The new hotel is close to the business district and popular attractions, including Deoksugung Palace, Myeongdong shopping street, and Namdaemun Market. It’s about 1 hour from Incheon International Airport (ICN).

Not many details are known about what voco Seoul Myeongdong will offer. However, we do know there will be a full-service restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a business center, meeting spaces, and an exclusive lounge.
