Marriott’s W Hotels brand is expanding in Greater China with the opening of a new hotel in Macau.

Here’s what you need to know about the property.

New W Hotel Has 550+ Rooms and Suites

W Macau – Studio City has a whopping 430 rooms and 127 suites, all of which offer impressive views. The hotel offers 4 restaurant and bar options, ranging from a coffee and cocktail bar to a 40th-floor eatery serving Cantonese food.

Amenities include an indoor pool, gym, spa, 7 meeting rooms, and even a recording studio.

“The opening of W Macau – Studio City ushers in a new, modern style of highly experiential hospitality in a city famous for its traditional approach to opulence,” said George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, W Hotels. “We are excited to bring the W brand’s unique and unpretentious vibe to Macau and appeal to the next generation of luxury travelers through our contextual approach to design and commitment to the guest experience.”

Bottom Line:

This opening comes after Marriott announced plans for a massive expansion in Greater China earlier this year. According to the hotel chain, Marriott plans to add nearly 50 hotels in 2023, bringing the company’s presence in the region to more than 500 properties by the end of the year.

How To Book W Macau – Studio City

The W Macau – Studio City is open and participating in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. That means you’ll be able to earn and redeem points at the property.

Award nights for dates this fall can be found for as low as 31,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, or $180 per night.

If you need to increase your account balance quickly ahead of a redemption, you’re in luck, as earning Marriott Bonvoy points is pretty easy. Several Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit cards are available, all with substantial welcome offers. You can then redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at resorts and hotels worldwide, including at this property.

Additionally, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points and American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

This property’s opening is exciting news for Marriott Bonvoy members, who now have yet another high-end option when visiting the Greater China region. And even better, award nights are reasonably priced, making the W Macau – Studio City a new sweet spot in the region!
