Marriott has announced the opening of a swanky new W Hotels property in the heart of Sydney.

Let’s take a look at this hotel and how you can book with Marriott Bonvoy points!

Hotel Has Nearly 600 Rooms and Suites

W Sydney has a whopping 588 guestrooms — including 162 suites.

Amenities include signature W Hotels features such as the Living Room bar, WET Deck, infinity pool, spa, and gym. The hotel also has nearly 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space and several dining options, some with uninterrupted harbor views.

In the announcement, Marriott says the W Sydney will cultivate a “new cultural and social hub” in the Darling Harbour district, perhaps the most popular area in the city.

“W Sydney marks our W Hotels brand’s triumphant return to Sydney, a long-awaited addition to our robust portfolio in Australia, following our recent debuts in Melbourne and Brisbane,” said George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of W Hotels.

Hot Tip:

The W Sydney becomes Marriott’s 7th branded property in the city. This includes mainstay hotels such as Moxy Sydney Airport.

Booking the W Sydney With Marriott Bonvoy Points

The W Sydney is now open for stays, and the hotel is participating in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. That means you can redeem and earn points for a stay at the property.

If you want to stay here, you’ll need at least 42,000 points per night (for December dates). If booking in cash, expect rates around $480 per night.

It’s incredibly easy to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, especially if you need points quickly for an upcoming stay. The hotel chain has several co-branded credit cards and offers sizable welcome bonus offers and some form of Marriott Bonvoy status with the cards. Once you’ve earned Marriott Bonvoy points, you can redeem them at resorts and hotels around the world, including at the W Hotel – Sydney.

Other ways to earn Marriott Bonvoy points include transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points and American Express Membership Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio. Don’t forget to join the Eat Around Town program to earn up to 6x points at participating restaurants.

Final Thoughts

Marriott is expanding its presence Down Under by opening a flagship W property in Sydney. While cash rates can be pretty high, the hotel is affordable using points and should quickly become popular amongst Marriott Bonvoy loyalists!
