Hilton has started renovating its Waldorf Astoria hotel in Orlando — and we’ve got the full schedule.

Let’s take a look at the news!

Waldorf Astoria Orlando Renovations To Finish by End of Year

Hilton says the Waldorf Astoria Orlando will begin sweeping renovations starting this month. Renovations to its rooms and suites, lobby space, Bull & Bear restaurant, Waldorf Astoria spa, and 18-hole golf course are underway.

It appears the Waldorf Astoria will remain open during the renovations, as dates throughout the year are available for booking through the hotel’s website. However, updates to the property will be on a rolling basis, which is important to keep in mind if you’re planning a stay at the hotel this year.

For instance, the golf course will be closed for maintenance and upgrades between May and November 2023 (though 9 courses will remain open), while guest rooms and suites will get a refresh between mid-July and mid-December. You can check out the renovation schedule here.

“As a Waldorf Astoria hotel, our guests expect the best in luxury accommodations and world-class amenities, and we are committed to providing them with an exceptional experience that surpasses their expectations as soon as they walk through our doors,” said Ryan Fitzgerald, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Orlando.

Hilton says a top-to-bottom makeover of the hotel will finish at the end of the year. Though some additions, such as the 8,000-square-foot Central Park Ballroom, were completed last year. The Waldorf Astoria Orlando first opened for guests in 2009.

How to Book

The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is located in the Bonnet Creek development, a convenient area for tourists visiting Walt Disney World parks or other theme parks. The hotel shuttle transfers guests between these locations throughout the day included in the resort fee.

Even with the renovations, you can expect to pay a hefty price. Whether you use cash or Hilton Honors points, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando is costly due to its proximity to Walt Disney World.

This property would be a great use of your Hilton free night certificates, as nights start at 90,000 points this summer. Luckily, there are many ways to earn Hilton points, such as by opening a co-branded credit card, transferring Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio, or even earning up 3x Hilton Honors points on Lyft purchases.

Final Thoughts

The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is getting a massive update to some critical infrastructure, such as the lobby and guest rooms. This is great news for Hilton loyalists planning a stay in the future. However, if you’re already booked for this year, make sure to check out the schedule beforehand to see what’s open!
