There’s a new luxury Hilton hotel in the pristine Seychelles — and awards start at 130,000 points per night.

There’s a lot to go over, so let’s dive right in!

First Waldorf Astoria in Seychelles

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island has 50 seafront villas in various configurations, including 1, 2, and 3-bedroom villas, as well as a 5-bedroom villa.

Amenities include a spa, outdoor pool, 6 dining options, children’s programming, local experiences such as fly fishing, and water sports such as kite surfing and scuba diving.

This is Hilton’s fifth resort in the Seychelles, after DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort and Spa, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, and Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts.

A sixth hotel, Canopy by Hilton Seychelles, will begin accepting reservations on March 11, 2024.

“The debut of Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island represents an intersection between luxury, the highest echelon of personalized service, and eco-conscious travel,” said Dino Michael, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Hilton Luxury Brands.

Platte Island is located about 77 miles south of the main island of Mahe (SEZ) and is only reachable by private plane. The flight takes around 25 minutes, and the island has its own airstrip.

Transportation fares via private plane start at $759 round-trip for adults and $380 for children.

Bottom Line:

The Seychelles is one of the most remote countries in the world. While there are no nonstop flights from the U.S., the island nation is reachable by flight on Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, Kenya Airways, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines.

Booking Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island is now open and participating in Hilton Honors, which means you can earn and redeem points for your stay.

There’s solid award availability at the resort — but be prepared to fork over a small fortune of Hilton Honors points. The hotel has a 3-night minimum, with awards starting at 130,000 points per night. Cash rates average around $2,000 per night.

Hilton doesn’t use an award chart, meaning award rates can be cheaper or more expensive depending on availability and travel dates. But there are many ways to earn Hilton Honors points, from spending on co-branded credit cardstransferring points from American Express, riding in a Lyft, to eating out with Hilton Honors Dining.

Final Thoughts

Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island resort is stunning. From its remote location in the Indian Ocean to its luxury room offerings, this hotel will surely be a favorite among Hilton Honors loyalists. While award and cash prices aren’t cheap, the experience of visiting one of the world’s most picturesque and secluded islands is truly worthwhile!
