In an airport with few lounges, The Club BWI delivered what my family needed before a morning flight: room to hang out and a bite to eat.

BWI isn’t an airport where you can count on a long list of airline lounges, especially if you’re flying domestically. That makes The Club BWI more useful than it would be at a larger airport with numerous lounges. For travelers with Priority Pass or those willing to buy a day pass, it’s the only realistic lounge option in the D and E concourses.

Just a 5-minute walk to our departure gate in Concourse D with no waitlist or overcrowding, this was an easy lounge visit. Was it luxurious? Not really. But practical amenities and good service made it worth a stop.

Here’s what our April 2026 visit was like and what travelers can expect from The Club BWI.

Location of The Club BWI

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) has a limited number of lounges. There is a USO Lounge in the Main Terminal, Minute Suites in Concourse C, Chesapeake Club Lounge in Concourse E, and The Club BWI in Concourse D. The Club BWI is the only traditional shared-access lounge in the airport that you can visit with Priority Pass or by purchasing a day pass.

The Club BWI is near gate D10, next to Dunkin’. It’s convenient for travelers in Concourse D and accessible from Concourse E via the connector. The lounge is less convenient for passengers departing from A, B, or C, as reaching it may require a long walk and reclearing security. It’s best considered a lounge for D and E, not an all-airport lounge.

I flew out of Concourse D, so the lounge was a convenient stop with a minimal 5-minute walk to the gate.

Hot Tip:

Getting Access to The Club BWI

The Club BWI is accessible to same-day departing passengers with:

  • Priority Pass
  • LoungeKey
  • Lounge Club
  • Day passes ($50, when available)

Children under 2 can visit for free with a qualifying adult. For most passengers, entry is limited to 3 hours before departure, and access is subject to availability.

During busy times, visitors may encounter a waitlist to get in, but we walked right in and didn’t experience any crowding before our 9 a.m. flight.

We got our family of 5 in using Priority Pass Select memberships. I have my membership with the Platinum Card® from American Express, and my husband has a membership with The Business Platinum Card® from American Express (enrollment required). I got myself and 2 kids in as guests using my membership, and he brought in a third kid as a guest.

Hot Tip:

The Amex Platinum card offers access to more than 1,550 lounges worldwide, including Priority Pass lounges and Centurion Lounges.

Seating and Work Areas at The Club BWI

My first impression was that The Club BWI felt more functional than polished. It didn’t have the scale, style, or extensive dining spread of a premium lounge, but it didn’t feel chaotic during our visit either. The staff were friendly and efficient, check-in was quick, and we got what we needed right away.

The lounge is compact, with a split-level layout and seating arranged across a few small zones. There was a mix of armchairs, small tables, and workstation-style counter seating. Solo travelers or couples could easily find open seats among the partitioned areas. For families or groups, the armchairs in the upper split section were better.

The bar and 1 seating section had apron views. The tightest seating area was the workstation counter, which seemed so narrow that guests might’ve had to shimmy to get to the farthest seats.

We didn’t initially see 5 seats together, but went further into the lounge and found an open area up the stairs with armchairs and small tables.

The Club BWI Food and Beverages

We visited the lounge during breakfast hours and found a small buffet near the bar. It was a compact space and would have felt cramped with more than a few people using it at once, but the drinks were in a separate corridor area to reduce congestion.

The food was fine for a complimentary breakfast just steps away from our gate, but not destination-worthy. There was 1 hot dish of egg bites. The cold buffet included a tasty yogurt parfait, fruit, assorted breads and spreads, including Chesapeake spice cream cheese, whipped butter, and orange marmalade. Cold cereals and milk were also available.

The yogurt parfaits were the best cold option, and the Chesapeake spice cream cheese gave the breakfast spread a local touch. I liked the egg bites, though this was more of a light breakfast.

There was bar seating with a view in the same area as the buffet. Around the corner in the main seating area was the beverage station with a soda fountain, coffee and water dispensers, and flavored syrups.

Amenities and Facilities at The Club BWI

Amenities at The Club BWI were limited but functional. There were restrooms, Wi-Fi, TVs, and flight monitors inside the lounge. Most seats had power and could serve as work areas. But there were no showers, nap rooms, spa, kids room, or any other premium amenities.

Final Thoughts

The Club BWI isn’t a lounge to go out of your way for unless you’re exceptionally determined to get a complimentary meal. It’s small and modest but does the basics well enough. For travelers departing from Concourse D or E with Priority Pass access, it’s a clear choice to eat, use the restroom, and sit in a quiet area before a flight. For travelers in A, B, or C, it’s likely not worth the detour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Club BWI located?

The Club BWI is in Concourse D near gate D10. It’s next to Dunkin’.

How can you access The Club BWI?

The Club BWI is accessible with a Priority Pass membership, LoungeKey, or Lounge Club. Day passes are available for $50. Children under 2 can visit for free with a qualifying adult.

Is The Club BWI worth visiting?

If you’re flying out of BWI Concourse D or E and have Priority Pass access, The Club BWI is a clear choice — and your only choice. It’s likely not worth it if you are flying out of a different concourse or don’t have complimentary access.

What amenities does The Club BWI offer?

The Club BWI offers a hot and cold buffet, a bar, and nonalcoholic beverages. There are restrooms inside the lounge, and guests can use the Wi-Fi.

Is The Club BWI good for families?

The Club BWI doesn’t have family-specific amenities such as a kids area, and seating can be tight because it’s a small lounge. That said, we were comfortable as a family of 5 with tweens and a teen and found the food, beverages, and seating adequate.
