7 Things You Should Know About the Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima in Peru [Review]

I didn’t want to leave. And even after checkout, the hotel’s staff continued to provide great service.

I have no idea how many hotels I’ve stayed at in my life, but I can honestly say this hotel provided the best service experience I can remember. From the days before check-in to days after checking out, they minded the small details.

The hotel’s amenities and my suite were also excellent, and this combination made my July 2026 stay memorable. The Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima is absolutely worth consideration if you’re heading to Peru’s capital.

Here’s what you should know about this property.

Booking Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima

The Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima is a Category 2 property in the World of Hyatt program, meaning award nights here cost between 6,000 and 15,000 points per night for a standard room.

For my 2-night stay in July 2026, the hotel was charging $189 or 7,500 points per night. Using 7,500 points to save $189 meant I redeemed points at 2.52 cents each. That’s far better than our average valuation of Hyatt points at 1.4 cents each.

These rates applied to the hotel’s standard room with 1 king bed, while Deluxe rooms were $212 per night, Premium rooms $288, and balcony rooms $293. Suites started at $423.

If you’re paying for a stay, using The World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is your best move. Using either card provides a total of 9 points per $1 spent at Hyatt properties, and if you have any Hyatt elite status, you’ll earn even more points on your spending.

Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima Location

The Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima is in the San Isidro neighborhood of Peru’s capital. Reaching the hotel from Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on Lima’s famous traffic.

The hotel is surrounded by shops, cafés, restaurants, bars, embassies, movie theaters, and numerous office buildings.

The Staff Is Excellent

I’ve never seen staff try so hard to go above and beyond my needs. Period. And I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels.

Let’s start with the experience before arrival.

Mariana, the guest relations manager, emailed me a week before my arrival to share details about the hotel and ask if I needed help with transfers from the airport. She also asked which 1 of 8 welcome gift options I preferred. In my reply, I said I’d need to do laundry while at the hotel. I asked a few questions about local companies with pickup and drop-off services.

Mariana replied with a wealth of information, including that she walked to a nearby laundry business to confirm the hours before sending the email. Wow!

At check-in, the staff was really friendly, clearly informing me about my suite upgrade, discounts available for Globalist members, and offering me a free drink coupon with multiple redemption options.

Then, I got to my room and was impressed by the attention to detail in the welcome note. During our email exchange, Mariana asked about my plans after leaving the hotel, and that detail made it into this note, wishing me a great time in Cajamarca, Peru.

Other staff highlights included friendly smiles and great service at the Isidro Bistró Limeño restaurant and at the bar when I was watching a World Cup game.

I also got great service at checkout, and when I returned to the hotel a few days after checkout.

At departure, the employee was friendly and efficient and wished me a pleasant onward journey. I grabbed an iced latte from the Awake Deli (details on that below) and went outside to wait for my Uber ride to the airport. Mariana appeared at my side and chatted with me while I waited; she’d clearly gotten a notification I was leaving, and she asked for honest feedback about the hotel.

I’m under no illusions that hotel staff owe me anything after I check out, so when employees do things like this, I’m always impressed.

Back to the laundry situation. I tried to have the laundry service deliver to my next hotel in Lima. That didn’t work, and it was delivered to the Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima. I emailed Mariana to inform her, and the staff knew exactly where to find my bag of clean clothes. I was no longer a guest at this hotel, yet no one complained, and employees were all smiles as they retrieved my laundry bag. And then I got a follow-up email from Mariana to make sure the laundry pickup went smoothly on her day off.

My Suite Was Fantastic

As a perk of my Globalist status, I was upgraded to a junior suite at check-in. I loved this super-spacious suite.

I found the closet and minibar immediately inside the room’s entrance, including complimentary tea and coffee, plus snacks and drinks for purchase.

Straight ahead of me was the sitting area, including a large sofa and a high-back armchair. The TV stand served as a divider between the sitting and sleeping parts of the suite.

The sleeping area was really spacious. None of the furniture was crowded, and there wasn’t any area that felt like a tight squeeze to move around. Along with a comfortable king bed, I had a bench at the foot of the bed, nightstands and lamps on both sides, numerous outlets, and a chair, footstool, and table in the corner. This is where I found the welcome note and welcome gift.

Along the outer wall, there was a dresser, and the TV stand was across from the bed.

The bathroom had 2 entrances: from the hallway near the room’s entrance and next to the bed. I loved this bathroom. It was spacious and bright. There were dual sinks, a large soaking tub, and separate enclosures for the toilet and shower. The large, backlit mirror was also nice.

The Breakfast Buffet Was Impressive

I had breakfast both mornings at Isidro Bistró Limeño on the ground floor. The spread was enormous. The show kitchen prepared eggs to order but also had multiple hot dishes that rotated daily.

There were also cereals, fruits, veggies, spreads, breads, juices, and even desserts.

I went to breakfast later on the second day than the first, and the granola was empty. In general, though, dishes were replenished quickly.

There were indoor and outdoor seating areas available for guests.

Hot Tip:

Breakfast was available from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. on weekday mornings and from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends. I didn’t have other meals here, but lunch and dinner were also available every day of the week.

The Lobby Has a Coffee Shop and a Coworking Area

Immediately inside the hotel’s entrance, Awake Deli offered coffee, sandwiches, and desserts from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. I’m a big fan of the recent hotel trend that puts coffee shops and hangout spaces in the lobby. As a digital nomad, having a place to work that isn’t my room is very welcome.

Speaking of getting work done, the far end of the lobby had a coworking area. This large, wooden desk had multiple outlets and padded chairs, as well as a computer for complimentary use.

There were also multiple seating areas around the lobby, which were great for a chat with friends, huddle with colleagues, or just taking a call.

The Gym Is OK

The hotel’s 24/7 gym was on the 10th floor. It had a few weight machines and cardio equipment, but was rather basic.

The Rooftop Is the Coolest Area

The rooftop had a pool and the Celeste Solar Bar. Celeste offered a full range of drinks and served tapas at night. It was open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday to Wednesday, and from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday. It was closed on Sundays.

The small outdoor pool was open daily until 10 p.m.

Art Is Everywhere

I found paintings and statues spread around the property. For example, a red piece sat in a nook near the elevators, while the entry area to my room (across from the closet) had a nice sculpture as well.

Final Thoughts

I really, truly enjoyed the 2 nights I spent at the Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima. I’ve already told several friends to book this hotel on their upcoming trips to Peru.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, my suite was spacious, and I loved the coffee shop in the lobby. The true highlight, though, was the staff. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where I felt like the staff was trying so hard to make my stay great.

That left a lasting impression in the best possible way.
