The author stayed as a guest of the Park Hyatt London River Thames. All opinions are the author’s own, and the Park Hyatt London River Thames had no input in any part of this review.

The Park Hyatt is one of Hyatt’s most luxurious hotel brands, and it is often considered the most luxurious in the chain’s portfolio of 37 brands. You’ll find Park Hyatts in major global cities and some of the world’s most desirable locations, like the Maldives.

When I found out that London, once my home city of 10 years, would welcome its very own Park Hyatt, I couldn’t wait to check it out for myself.

I visited London in August 2025 and was lucky to spend 2 nights at the Park Hyatt London River Thames, which, quite frankly, has it all.

Booking Park Hyatt London River Thames

World of Hyatt members can book a stay at the Park Hyatt London River Thames with cash or points. As a Category 7 property, off-peak award nights in a standard room can be booked for 25,000 points, standard nights for 30,000 points, and peak nights for 35,000 points.

Astonishingly, you can book a regular king room in the peak summer travel month of August 2026 starting at just 30,000 points per night. That’s a steal considering the nightly cash rate for the same dates is $550. According to Upgraded Points’ valuations, Hyatt points are worth 1.5 cents each, which means 30,000 points have a cash equivalent of $450. That’s a savings of around $100 per night compared to the cash rate.

Hot Tip:

If you pay with cash, consider using one of our recommended best credit cards for World of Hyatt loyalists. The World of Hyatt Credit Card and World of Hyatt Business Credit Card are great tools for any frequent Hyatt hotel visitor to have in their wallet.

Location

As someone who has lived in London on and off for around 10 years in total, I think the location of the Park Hyatt London River Thames is great.

Its prime location on the south bank of the River Thames means you’re within walking distance of beautiful Battersea Park and the Battersea Power Station.

The closest Tube station, about 5 minutes away on foot, is Vauxhall, which is just 4 stops from Oxford Circus and Soho — the heart of London. I appreciated the relative peace and quiet of the Park Hyatt London River Thames’ Nine Elms location compared to London’s more central hotels.

Golden hour hits.

If it’s your first time in London and you want to explore the more touristy spots, you can take a 30- to 40-minute walk along the Thames to the London Eye, taking in the uniquely wonderful sights along the way.

Bottom Line:

Whether it’s your first or your hundredth time visiting London, this hotel is the perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, all while having some of the best bits of the city accessible on foot from the hotel.

Boutique-Style Rooms

Newer Park Hyatt properties tend to be more than standard corporate, cookie-cutter hotels, and the Park Hyatt London River Thames is no exception.

My suite, a Park Suite River View Deluxe on the 10th floor, wowed me from the second I stepped in the door.

I wanted to move in immediately.

I wouldn’t have chosen it, but the floral artwork complemented the room’s design. The bold burnt orange of the cushions and armchair added a well-placed pop of color to finish the design perfectly.

The furnishings, such as a cabinet minibar, are elegant pieces you’d expect to find in a townhouse in one of London’s affluent neighborhoods — a nod to the pied-à-terre luxury that Park Hyatts are known for.

Fancy a tipple?

The separate master bedroom was similarly elegantly designed. Note the matching grey tones of the oversized headboard and chaise longue. I liked that the burnt orange from the main living room continued into the bedroom.

The spacious bathroom featured a walk-in wardrobe, roll-top bathtub, walk-in shower, and amenities by French perfumer Blaise Mautin. Ooh la la.

My attention was also drawn to the flooring. I love it when different colors and textures are used to help with the feeling of zoning.

Fantastic Views

Not all rooms at the Park Hyatt London River Thames have a view, but the view is likely to be spectacular if your room has one. I was greeted by a view of the Thames when I opened the door.

You can’t beat a room looking over the Thames when visiting London.

The Battersea Power Station, the area’s hottest new landmark, could be seen from the living room and the bedroom.

The view from the bed in the opposite direction wasn’t quite as spectacular, but it was still nice to be able to see the Thames.

Perfect for a lazy morning in bed.

If I had my way, I’d have the bed against the wall where the TV is, so the view from the bed would be towards the Power Station instead.

Classic Yet Modern Design

I’d read a couple of comments suggesting that the hotel’s design lacked character. I couldn’t disagree more.

From the arrangements of fresh flowers to the stunning works of art hanging from the ceilings and on the walls, something bold and beautiful caught my eye at every step I took through the hotel.

At check-in, freestanding marble plinths replaced the usual drab desks. It looked more like the corner of an art exhibition than a hotel lobby.

It was the bold mixture of oranges, pinks, and greens in the Nine Elms Lounge that stood out to me the most.

Elite Gastronomy

The restaurants at the Park Hyatt London River Thames matched the hotel’s 5-star status.

Over the course of my 2-night stay, I enjoyed breakfast each morning, a dinner at Yú Gé, a bite at the Nine Elms Lounge, and even dabbled in room service.

Nine Elms Kitchen and Terrace

The Nine Elms Kitchen and Terrace is the hotel’s main restaurant. Breakfast is served here daily from 7 to 10:30 a.m. on weekdays and until 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

It’s always a good sign when you can see the chef preparing fresh breakfast dishes.

Standouts from the breakfast buffet were the cold cuts and decadent pastries. I was also thrilled to see coconut milk chia pudding pots. I wish more hotels would offer alternatives to cow’s milk for lactose-intolerant guests.

You can also order from the à la carte menu, which features classic dishes like eggs Benedict.

I was happy to see an “eggs your way” option so I could order my beloved egg-white omelette.

The weather was in my favor during my stay so that I could enjoy breakfast alfresco on the terrace.

I also ate here for dinner one evening. The menu was smaller than I’d have expected, but I’d seen enough once I noticed there were bao buns.

Nine Elms Lounge

The stunning Nine Elms Lounge is a spacious and relaxing area, far superior to an average lobby bar.

You can grab a bite from the menu of hearty dishes, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. From Thursday to Saturday, guests and visitors can enjoy extended opening hours until 2 a.m.

Time for a drink?

I indulged in the hotel’s version of fish and chips. The fish was served in a toasted brioche bun, and the chips were proper thick-cut fries — just like you’d get from a local “chippy” (the colloquial name for a takeaway fish and chip shop in the U.K.)

Dinner at Yú Gé

If you’re staying at the hotel or even just visiting the area, you must pay a visit to Yú Gé if you’re a fan of Cantonese cuisine. It’s a sanctuary of calm and elegance away from the crowds and queues of the more mainstream Cantonese restaurants in the city’s bustling Chinatown.

I shared the evening with my good friend Jean and followed our tradition of kicking off the evening with an espresso martini.

We shared a selection of dishes. The siu mai and scallops were our favorites.

Yú Gé was the perfect start to our evening of shenanigans in London.

The restaurant is open for lunch from 12 to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 10:30 p.m., except on Mondays and Tuesdays, when it’s closed.

Room Service

I’m not usually a room-service kind of guy, but I made a couple of exceptions because I wanted to make the most of every second in my incredible room. I ordered my usual egg-white omelette and fruit, with a side of pastries.

The classic club sandwich didn’t disappoint either.

Top-Class Facilities

In a world-class city like London, Hyatt can’t afford to skimp on luxury amenities. This property delivers on the facilities high-spending travelers expect.

The gym had top-of-the-line TechnoGym equipment and Peloton bikes.

The large indoor pool and surrounding relaxation areas were stunning.

Zen.

As much thought went into the design and finish of the changing rooms as the rest of the hotel.

Facilities were full of all the amenities you’d expect, including a sauna.

Anyone for a post-swim sauna?

The cherry on top of this already very sweet cake was my visit to the hotel’s spa. I enjoyed a complimentary massage as part of my visit, trying a facial for the first time rather than my go-to of reflexology or a relaxing full-body massage.

Final Thoughts

Not a single aspect of my stay fell short of the very high expectations I had before checking into the Park Hyatt London River Thames. Whether you’re visiting for the first time, are a London regular, or are a local looking for a luxurious staycation, you’re likely to be impressed by this hotel.

I’d read comments about the location being poor, but as someone who lived in the area for a few years, I’d say this property’s location is one of its major selling points. With jaw-dropping views of the River Thames and some of the city’s landmarks, impressive food and drink options, and redemption rates from just 25,000 Hyatt points per night, you couldn’t really ask for more.
