Cape Air includes a standard carry-on and a personal item, but depending on the aircraft, you may not be able to store your items in the cabin due to restricted space.
Checked luggage is included in the ticket for flights to some destinations and for others it will need to be purchased.
Cape Air does not disclose weight limits for carry-on luggage, which is surprising considering they operate small aircraft. The airline states that is should be “sufficiently small and lightweight to be cleared through airport security screening,” so be sure to pack light to avoid being charged for additional checked luggage.

Additional/Excess Baggage Fees
It may be possible to transport special items (including excess luggage) depending on space availability. Cape Air does not disclose fees for excess luggage, so you will need to contact the airline directly for more information.
For information related to special luggage such as sporting equipment, please refer to Cape Air’s policy.
Can I Prepay for Baggage?
Cape Air does not allow passengers to prepay baggage, so this would need to be purchased at the airport subject to space.
Credit Cards That Wipe Away Your Baggage Fees
Like many small airlines, Cape Air doesn’t have a co-branded credit card that offers free bags — but don’t fret, you can still avoid paying these fees out of pocket.
To us, the best way to do this is to use the Capital One® Venture® Rewards card. Just charge your baggage fees to the card and use the card’s proprietary Purchase Eraser tool to wipe the charge from your statement. This tool lets you use your Venture points to cover your baggage fees (or any other travel expenses) at a rate of 1 cent per point. This means that a $30 first checked bag fee would cost just 3,000 points — far better than paying the fee.
|Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card - This no annual fee card comes with a 20,000 mile welcome bonus (worth $200) once you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months. When you use your card for travel purchases (e.g. baggage fees), use your miles to pay off all, or part of, your statement! This is why we like this card.|
|Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card - The "big brother" card to the VentureOne® with a larger 50,000 welcome bonus (worth $500), when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months.|
