As a business owner, cash flow management is a crucial component of ensuring operations run smoothly. However, unforeseen events happen often, and you might find yourself in a debt pickle.

Luckily, many credit card companies offer attractive promotions to business owners that can temporarily defer interest from accruing on existing balances. These are known as balance transfers.

As a way of getting a foot in the door for business owners, many banks offer attractive promotions for balance transfers on business credit cards, or even 0% APR credit card offers.

But finding these business credit cards can often feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, simply because there aren’t many nationwide banks offering balance transfer promotions on business credit cards.

So, we’ve done all of the research for you, and we’ve come up with the definitive list of the best business credit cards for balance transfers!

Best Business Cards for Balance Transfers — Overview

Below you’ll find a high-level look at our picks for the best credit cards for balance transfers:

What To Look For in a Business Credit Card for Balance Transfers

If you’re a business owner looking to consolidate debt from your existing business credit cards, you may benefit from a balance transfer credit card.

However, if you’re looking for one of these cards, you must look for a business balance transfer credit card — you cannot perform balance transfers from personal credit cards to business credit cards and vice-versa.

The 3 most important criteria for picking a balance transfer credit card are:

  • Balance transfer promotional APR
  • Balance transfer promotional period
  • Balance transfer promotional fee

So, for example, if a credit card is offering a 0% introductory balance transfer APR for 6 months with a reduced balance transfer fee of 3% instead of 5%, any balances transferred will not accrue interest fees for the first 6 months of card opening.

To expand on this, let’s say you have a balance of $25,000 and you perform a balance transfer to this new business credit card.

For the first 6 months of card opening, you won’t accumulate any credit card interest, and the fee for performing that balance transfer will be $750 (3%) instead of $1,250 (5%).

In general, most business owners look for a business credit card with 0% APR for the longest period, and this factor becomes more important if you’re looking to transfer large balances.

Another consideration to keep in mind is that you cannot transfer balances from 1 business card to another within the same financial institution.

For example, if you have a lot of debt on a U.S. Bank credit card, you can’t perform a balance transfer to another U.S. Bank credit card.

The 11 Best Business Credit Cards for Balance Transfers

Although balance transfer credit cards for personal use are relatively ubiquitous, business credit cards with 0% balance transfer APRs are surprisingly difficult to find.

In fact, it’s actually quite difficult to find nationwide banks that offer balance transfer business credit cards — most of them are regional banks.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our favorite business credit cards for balance transfers!

Hot Tip: Almost all business credit cards that offer balance transfers have no annual fees, but they’re extremely bare-bones when it comes to benefits, so these cards are best used for the sole purpose of performing balance transfers!

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card

Our top business credit card for balance transfers is offered to business owners nationwide, meaning you don’t have to worry about which state your business operates in or about finding a branch to visit in person.

Somewhat unique in its class, the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Visa Business card earns significant rewards and offers a sizable welcome bonus.

Currently, there’s a 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles. The 0% introductory APR on balance transfers applies only to balances transferred within the first 30 days of card opening, so don’t procrastinate when performing those balance transfers!

A 5% balance transfer fee will apply, and there’s a minimum of $5 per balance transferred.

On the rewards front, you’ll earn up to 5% cash-back on your purchases:

  • 5% cash-back on prepaid hotels and rental cars booked through the Travel Rewards Center
  • 3% cash-back at gas and EV-charging stations (on purchases of $200 or less), office supply stores, cell phone service providers, and restaurants
  • 1% cash-back on other purchases

This card also has an annual $100 statement credit for recurring software subscription expenses.

Plus, enjoy expense management tools with Visa Spend Clarity, zero fraud liability, 24/7 fraud monitoring, no additional fee for employee cards, and no annual fee.

U.S. Bank Business Shield™ Visa® Card

Yet another fabulous business credit card for balance transfers is the U.S. Bank Business Shield card, which is also available nationwide.

The most compelling use case for this card is its balance transfer APR period. You’ll get a 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles! However, if you visit a U.S. Bank branch to apply in person, you may get 18 billing cycles. There’s a 5% balance transfer fee (minimum $5).

There’s no annual fee for the U.S. Bank Business Shield card, and the benefits include purchase protection, 5% cash-back on prepaid air, hotel, and car rentals made through the U.S. Bank Travel Center, a $50 annual statement credit after spending at least $5,000 in the U.S. Bank Travel Center, and zero fraud liability.

Atlantic Union Bank Visa® Business Cash Preferred Card

The Atlantic Union Bank Visa Business Cash Preferred card could be a great fit for those located in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, or Washington, D.C., who don’t need a long 0% intro APR period on balance transfers and want to earn rewards on their future spending.

The card offers a 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for 6 billing cycles on balances transferred within 186 days after account opening. The introductory balance transfer fee is 3% with a $5 minimum.

The Atlantic Union Bank Visa Business Cash Preferred card has no annual fee, and cardholders can earn 3% cash-back on gas and EV charging stations (when the transaction is $200 or less and excluding discount stores/supercenters and wholesale clubs), cell phone service providers, office supply stores, and dining, including takeout and food delivery.

Another benefit of the card is a $100 annual statement credit if you make a software purchase for 11 consecutive months.

Huntington Voice Business Credit Card℠

Final Thoughts

Finding business credit cards that offer 0% balance transfer promotions is surprisingly difficult. Because nationwide banks generally don’t offer these products, your best bet is to find regional banks that service your local area.

Overall, the best business balance transfer card will have at least a 12-month 0% APR period.

On average, balance transfer fees are around 3%, but if you do enough digging, you may find business credit cards with a 0% balance transfer APR.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do business cards allow balance transfers?

Absolutely! Most business cards allow balance transfers, and some offer introductory promotions that encourage you to perform balance transfers. These promotions include introductory APR rates or reduced balance transfer fees.

Can I transfer personal debt to an LLC?

In general, you cannot transfer personal credit card balances to a business credit card. The reverse is also true. You generally have to transfer from personal to personal or from business to business.

What is a balance transfer in business?

In credit cards, a business balance transfer is simply the process of moving an existing business credit card balance to a different credit card. Usually, this is done to avoid accruing interest fees as the debt is paid down over time.

Do balance transfers hurt your credit?

In general, balance transfers neither hurt nor help your credit. Your credit utilization ratio is not changing overall since your credit score is typically calculated based on an aggregate credit utilization ratio. Since your cumulative balances are neither increasing nor decreasing, the effect of balance transfers usually cancels itself out.

What credit score do I need to get a balance transfer credit card?

It depends. Having a better credit score is almost always better than having a poor credit score. Different banks have different criteria for these balance transfer credit cards, but many of these cards can be acquired with less-than-excellent credit.

Which bank is best for balance transfer?

The best business credit cards for balance transfers may not be the nationwide banks you’re familiar with, like American Express or Chase. However, 2 of our top picks are from U.S. Bank, which is available nationwide. We do recommend looking at regional banks, as they often offer excellent business credit cards for balance transfers, but you need to shop around to find the best option for your situation.
