Air France will fly its brand-new La Première first class on flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), beginning on September 27, 2025.

“This milestone marks a significant enhancement of Air France’s U.S. offering and further strengthens the airline’s position as a leader in global luxury travel,” said Fabien Pelous, senior vice president of customer experience at Air France.

Here’s what you need to know.

LAX Joins JFK as the Only U.S. Airports with Air France’s New La Première

Air France will introduce new La Première first class on flights to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airline will fly the Boeing 777-300 aircraft on the route.

Here’s a look at the route and flight numbers that will feature the new product:

  • AF022: Depart Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) at 10:30 a.m. — arrive at Los Angeles (LAX) at 1:05 p.m. the same day
AF023: Depart Los Angeles (LAX) at 3:25 p.m. — arrives at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) at 11:15 a.m. the following day

Air France says it will operate up to 3 daily direct flights from Los Angeles to Paris this winter and up to 4 daily flights next summer.

This is pretty big news, as LAX will become just the second U.S. city with the new La Première seats, after New York (JFK).

The old La Première (which is still extremely high-end) is currently offered to and from Los Angeles, Miami (MIA), New York, San Francisco (SFO), and Washington (IAD).

If you aren’t familiar, Air France La Première is one of the best — and most exclusive — cabins in commercial aviation. With just 4 seats in the first-class cabin, La Première features 2 separate seating areas, a lie-flat bed, entertainment, and enhanced dining.

Bottom Line:

The La Première experience begins on the ground at LAX. Guests will enjoy check-in at a dedicated La Première space, priority escort through TSA security, a private car transfer, and a private section of the Air France lounge.

How To Book

Air France’s La Première isn’t easy to book — and that’s by design.

To book using Flying Blue miles, you must be an Air France-KLM Flying Blue Platinum or Ultimate Elite member. You can book an Air France business class award ticket using points and then upgrade with cash, as Senior Content Contributor Daniel Ross has done.

You can also book a cash ticket outright, but a one-way ticket costs nearly $19,000!

Final Thoughts

Air France is bringing its new La Première first class product to Los Angeles. This is exciting news for LAX flyers, as they’ll have nearly 11 hours of pure luxury bliss in the air, compared to 8 hours for JFK passengers. With JFK and LAX in the mix for now, we’re hoping Air France will soon bring its new La Première to more U.S. gateways.
