As a thank you to all employees who worked to continue keeping the airline running during the COVID-19 pandemic and in celebration of 90 years of service, Alaska Airlines has provided all active employees with 90,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles to use on future flights.

90 Years and 90,000 Mileage Plan Miles

As airline workers became essential positions during the pandemic, Alaska employees had to report to work each day regardless of the environmental conditions. They weathered an economic storm as the pandemic raged on, and while some employees were laid off or others departed the airline, many remained on for the long haul. As a thank you to its employees for remaining committed to caring for its customers, the airline has awarded each employee with 90,000 Mileage Plan miles.

“As we celebrate 90 years of flying, we wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible people who work nonstop to keep things moving, even throughout a global pandemic,” said Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines. “When you think about how many airlines have come and gone since 1932, it’s an amazing achievement that we’re still here and stronger than ever — it’s because of the genuine care and hard work our people bring to our operation every day.”
