Alaska Airlines has big plans for 2026. The Seattle-based carrier will add no less than 13 new routes starting in the spring, just in time for the busy summer travel season.

Alaska Airlines will also increase the frequency of flights from the West Coast to Hawaii and add 2 brand new destinations the airline’s route map: Arcata-Eureka (ACV) in California and Tulsa, Oklahoma (TUL).

“With bold expansion in San Diego and Portland, plus more flights to Hawai‘i and new
destinations like Tulsa and Arcata-Eureka, Alaska is redefining what it means to connect guests to a remarkable travel experience rooted in safety, care and performance,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska.

Here’s everything you need to know about the airline’s next expansion.

San Diego Remains a Key Focus With 5 New Routes

Alaska Airlines is keen to keep its status as the leading airline at San Diego (SAN) by adding 5 new routes next spring. There’ll be short hops within California and longer flights to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and even as far as Raleigh-Durham (RDU) in North Carolina.

And in a milestone moment, Alaska’s first-ever flight to Tulsa (TUL) will take off from San Diego on March 18. New flights are as follows:

Alaska’s New Routes From Portland, Seattle, Ontario, and Honolulu

In its latest network update, Portland, Oregon (PDX), is also a key focus city for Alaska.

The carrier will add 4 new routes in May, bringing Alaska’s total number of destinations served from Portland to 62. Elsewhere, Seattle (SEA) will benefit from 2 new nonstop routes to Acrata-Eureka and Tulsa — the 2 new destinations that Alaska is adding to its network.

Also of note: On May 13, 2026, Honolulu (HNL) and Burbank (BUR) will be connected with a nonstop flight for the first time in over 20 years.

Alaska Increases Connectivity to Hawaii

As Alaska and Hawaiian have officially merged as a single airline, increasing connectivity between the West Coast and Hawaii is a high priority. As such, Alaska will make the following schedule increases:

The service from Los Angeles to Maui currently operated under a Hawaiian Airlines flight number will change to an Alaska Airlines flight number on April 22, 2026. However, it will still be a Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A330 that operates the service. This is part of Alaska and Hawaiian’s process of merging systems to streamline the booking experience for passengers.

Hot Tip:

For frequent flyers, there’s a lot of excitement around the merger of Alaska and Hawaiian. The new loyalty program, Atmos Rewards, promises to be a hit, and Alaska Airlines’ credit cards offer both valuable welcome bonuses and ongoing benefits.

Final Thoughts

There’s no stopping Alaska Airlines and its ever-increasing route map. For 2026, we’re already learning of big plans for more routes, increased frequency between the West Coast and Hawaii, and 2 brand new destinations for the airline.
