Alaska Airlines has announced that it will expand service at 2 airports in Southern California as it continues to increase flights in the state.

Let’s take a look at this exciting news from Alaska.

Alaska’s Big West Coast Expansion

Alaska will begin nonstop service between San Diego (SAN) and Las Vegas (LAS) and from Los Angeles (LAX) to Pasco, Washington (PSC).

Additionally, the airline will resume service between Los Angeles and Reno (RNO). All routes are scheduled to begin on October 1, 2024.

Alaska will also increase service on routes it already serves in early October. From Los Angeles, the airline will increase capacity to the following destinations: Boise (BOI), Medford (MFR), Portland (PDX), San Jose (SJC), Santa Rosa (STS), and Seattle (SEA).

“As the only airline based on the West Coast, we’re committed to growth in Southern California, and I’m excited that we will offer our largest schedule out of the region in recent years; with our new services from Los Angeles to both Reno and Pasco as well as increased options to the destinations our guests visit most frequently,” said said Neil Thwaites, regional vice president of California at Alaska Airlines.

This is another instance of Alaska expanding its West Coast footprint. Just last month, the airline announced daily, nonstop flights from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas, which begins on October 1.

Bottom Line:

All told, Alaska says it will offer the most daily flights from Los Angeles to cities along the West Coast by any domestic airline.

How To Book

Tickets are now available at alaskaair.com. Alaska doesn’t appear to be running any special promotion on the new routes, as it usually does. However, prices are still pretty reasonable.

For instance, tickets start at just $49 one-way in economy between San Diego and Las Vegas.
