Spring is just around the corner, and with that comes a refresh of food and beverage options you can expect from American Airlines, both inflight and in its Admirals Club lounges in airports across the U.S. and Canada.

“As spring travel heats up, our customers are eager to see new food and drinks across our menus. Whereas warm comfort foods like soups rule the skies in the fall and winter, the spring season has people craving fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as tried-and-true summer dishes like our new sliders and fries,” said Heather Garboden, American’s chief customer officer.

Let’s take a closer look at the new meal options available on your next AA flight.

First, here’s a peek at what’s new at the airline’s lounges in North America. American says these options have already begun rolling out but will be available across its entire lounge network by March 17, 2025 (the first dish listed is a breakfast option, while the second is an all-day option):

  • Austin (AUS): Maple strawberry chia overnight oats; roasted jalapeño hummus
  • Boston (BOS): Banana caramel bread pudding; honey miso shrimp, vegetable yakisoba, crispy onions, hoisin sauce, and scallions
  • Charlotte (CLT): Mixed berry French toast; sweet-and-sour pork with pineapple, brown rice and quinoa, toasted sesame seeds, scallions, and chili crisp
  • Chicago-O’Hare (ORD): Mediterranean breakfast egg scramble; green goddess cabbage feta salad
  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW): Cheddar omelet with chipotle chimichurri; Argentine beef empanada with roasted red pepper chimichurri
  • Denver (DEN): Maple strawberry chia overnight oats; honey mustard pork loin with spring onion and sage
  • Los Angeles (LAX): Roasted tomato feta breakfast wrap with salsa verde; orange peel tempura chicken with roasted red pepper and onion
  • Miami (MIA): Scrambled eggs with parmesan and tomato; build-your-own tacos with spicy chicken, roasted veggies, soft tortillas, and shredded cheddar
  • Nashville (BNA): Southwest salsa verde breakfast wrap; edamame shrimp teriyaki with carrots and water chestnuts
  • New York-LaGuardia (LGA): Build-your-own breakfast slider with egg patty and cheddar cheese; fig and balsamic chicken with caponata brown rice with mozzarella, walnuts, lemon wedges, garlic chips, and crumbled blue cheese
  • Philadelphia (PHL): Raspberry chia pudding; chickpea edamame salad with mint and lemon
  • Phoenix (PHX): Turmeric blueberry quinoa salad with cashews; Southwest bean salad

American is also adding more beverage options at the bar. New premium spirits include Still Gin, Casamigos Añejo Tequila, Tequila Ocho Reposado, Kahlua, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and Horse Soldier Bourbon.

A new mocktail option, the Peachy Keen, enters the fray for March, while additional mixers, including Carolan’s Irish Cream and Fever Tree Espresso Martini Mix, will be on offer.

American is also rolling out new grab-and-go snack options. While they won’t be served from a dedicated space like United’s Club Fly concept, AA flyers will have a few choices to take with them on their flights, including oatmeal bars, peanut butter dates, dark chocolate and sea salt granola, and caramel cheese popcorn.

New Inflight Menu Options

The new food options don’t stop on the ground. American is adding new inflight meal options starting on March 12, 2025, in premium cabins on domestic flights. The new breakfast options include:

  • Biscuit and chicken sausage gravy with cheesy scrambled eggs
  • White cheddar and Monterey Jack omelet with chicken sausage and seasoned potato wedges
  • Smothered veggie and cheese frittata with tomato wedges and everything-seasoned potato wedges
  • 3-cheese omelet with seasoned potato wedges

Finally, following a successful trial on select flights departing Chicago-O’Hare (ORD), American is rolling out its “sliders and fries” dish to more flights. Premium cabin passengers will be able to preorder sliders and fries on short-haul domestic flights over 900 miles.

Also worth noting is the fact that American Airlines AAdvantage members will, as of March 18, 2025, be able to redeem AAdvantage miles for food and beverages on eligible flights. This adds to the existing ability to redeem miles for single-entry passes to Admirals Clubs.
