Update: The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.
We all know that the world runs on coffee. This truth is perhaps this is why American Express has added its newest benefit to all its cards, consumer and corporate alike — free coffee at Panera Bread. Let’s take a look.
MyPanera+ is a subscription that normally costs $8.99 per month and offers subscribers unlimited orders of hot coffee, hot tea, and iced coffee. Although these drinks are unlimited, you do have to wait 2 hours between redemptions, but in-cafe refills are free.
Any U.S. Amex cardholder over 18 years old can register for a free 6-month MyPanera+ subscription through January 31, 2022, though only new MyPanera+ members are eligible.
Iced tea, espressos, cold brews, and cappuccinos are excluded from the subscription, and syrups result in an upcharge. Otherwise, sweeteners and milk options are included.
Once the 6-month trial subscription has ended, your MyPanera+ subscription will renew at the $8.99 per month rate.

Is It Worth It?
Even if you don’t drink coffee, a MyPanera+ subscription offers hot tea to its customers. Although syrups are extra and some types of coffee aren’t included, this is a pretty neat perk that Amex has added in. Even better, the benefit is available to all cardholders — not just premium cards. Yes, that means your no-fee Amex is going to give you free coffee for 6 months. Celebrate!
In all seriousness, the only reason this wouldn’t be worth redeeming is if you do not have a Panera Bread nearby. Still, be aware that once the 6 months have expired, your subscription will auto-renew and you’ll be on the hook until you choose to cancel it.
This is a pretty great offer that Amex is extending to all of its cardholders. Although you’ll need to have a Panera Bread around in order to take advantage, free, unlimited tea and coffee is always a good thing. Just don’t forget that you’ll need to sign up by January 31, 2022, and cancel when the 6-month free trial expires.
