Renting a car soon? Check your American Express offers to see if you can save some cash on your next rental with Alamo Rent-a-Car.

Currently, some accounts are being targeted with an offer to earn $50 back when you spend $250 or more with Alamo.

Here is a look at the full details of the offer.

Amex Offer for Alamo Details

This new offer allows you to earn a one-time $50 statement credit after using your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $250 in 1 or more purchases in person at Alamo Rent-a-Car US locations or online at alamo.com.

Below are the terms and conditions of the offer that you need to be aware of:

  • Rentals must be completed and paid for by March 7, 2025, in order to qualify.
  • Enrollment is limited. Eligible Card Members must first add the offer to their card and then use the same card for their car rental.
  • Only US-issued American Express cards are eligible.
  • Limit of 1 statement credit per eligible card member account.
  • Offer valid only for vehicle rental reservations booked directly with Alamo Rent-a-Car in-person at U.S. locations, online at U.S. website alamo.com, or through the Alamo US mobile app.
  • Must pick up and return rental to Alamo Rent-a-Car US locations only.
  • Not valid for bookings made through travel agents or affiliate booking sites.
  • Excludes e-Tolls, Meetings & Group Rentals, General Aviation/FBO Rentals, Tour Operator bookings, Enterprise Car Sales, and purchases with Travel Partners (such as Airfare, Train, Hotel).
  • Please allow 90 days after March 7, 2025, for the statement credit to be posted to your account
Hot Tip:

If you haven’t already, you should sign up for the Alamo Insiders loyalty program so that you can earn additional rewards on your rental car purchase.

Stack With Rakuten for More Cash-Back or Rewards

As a reminder, it is always worth checking cash-back portals like Rakuten, Capital One Shopping, AAdvantage eShopping, etc., to see if you can score some additional cash-back rewards when you book travel or purchase products online.

Currently, Rakuten users can earn 1.5% cash-back when making purchases through Alamo Rent-a-Car. This means that, on a $250 car rental, you’ll not only earn the $50 statement credit with your Amex offer, but a further $3.75 in cash-back through Rakuten.

Note that Rakuten also allows users with an American Express Membership Rewards card linked to their account to earn Amex Membership Rewards instead of cash-back on their purchases. This means you could opt to earn 375 Membership Rewards points on this purchase, which we value at $8.25 based on our valuations.

Final Thoughts

If you were planning on purchasing a rental car for an upcoming trip anyway, and Alamo offers competitive pricing for your dates, then you might as well take advantage of this offer to save $50 on your car rental with Alamo.

Remember that your rental must be completed and paid for by March 7, 2025, and make sure you take advantage of cash-back portals during booking as well.
