The much-loved Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo has gotten a significant refresh — adding new rooms, a beach club, and more.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right to it!

Hyatt has added 25 1- 2- and 3-bedroom residential villas to the resort. Guests who book villas will get enhanced amenities like a dedicated residence concierge, complimentary afternoon aperitivos, priority dinner reservations, and more. 2-bedroom villas, for instance, boast more than 1,800 square feet and feature a rooftop with a plunge pool and bay views.

The hotel has also added a new beach club, Casa de Playa, scheduled to be completed in February 2024, that will offer an on-site restaurant.

Other updates include a “reimagined” restaurant, Ostra, offering Costa Rican cuisine.

“With these additions complementing the outstanding amenities of Peninsula Papagayo, the resort will offer an unparalleled and unforgettable luxury experience, setting new standards in hospitality,” said General Manager Patrick Schori.

Booking Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo With Points

The Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo is perhaps one of the best values a Hyatt enthusiast can get with points in the Americas.

That’s because cash rates at the resort are rarely cheap — a standard room usually starts at around $1,000 per night, while villas can easily top $2,500 per night.

The property is a Category 6 hotel, which means award stays start at 21,000 points per off-peak night, 25,000 per standard night, and 29,000 per peak night. However, the new villas are considered “specialty suites” and unavailable for World of Hyatt suite awards and point redemption.

It isn’t the easiest to earn World of Hyatt points, but they are incredibly valuable, especially in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. Hyatt offers 2 co-branded credit cards: The World of Hyatt Credit Card and the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, which both offer welcome bonuses and entry-level Discoverist status.

Hot Tip:

If you’re running low on World of Hyatt points, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to the chain at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

One of the best points resorts in the Americas has received a massive update to its villa offerings, dining options, and more, which is fantastic news for Hyatt loyalists. The Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo — already considered a top resort in the region — just got even better!
