Marriott announced Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy to its already large portfolio in 2022, and it is set to launch in the U.S. starting in December 2023. The properties will offer an upper-end luxury apartment experience to guests looking for something more than a long-term stay hotel.

Let’s review more about one of Marriott Bonvoy’s latest new brands and preview Casa Costera, Isla Verde, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, the first property.

What Is Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy?

Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy aims to refresh the serviced apartment concept and offer more luxury-oriented buildings. These apartments will be meant for those looking for home-like amenities during their stay, or those travelers that need a larger place to live during extended travels.

The property will be designed to reflect the local neighborhood … very similar to Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio. While the similar Residence Inn by Marriott tends to be very cookie-cutter in design and aesthetics, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy will truly be rooted in the local locations with unique art, photography, and building materials.

Each apartment will offer a separate living room and a mix of 1-, 2-, or 3-bedrooms, a full kitchen, and an in-unit washer and dryer. Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties will not have food and beverage service, meeting spaces, retail stores, or other amenities you typically associate with a long-term stay hotel. You can think of the new apartment concept as apartment-only, with limited hotel-like perks.

The first Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy property, Casa Costera, Isla Verde, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, is taking reservations in anticipation of its December 2023 opening. The property is located in the Isla Verde neighborhood of San Juan, Puerto Rico, just 2.5 miles from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU).

The beachfront property has studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units — 107 rooms in total — and features amenities such as a rooftop pool, fitness center, and an on-site market.

Hot Tip:

Additional Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties are planned to open in 2024 across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.

Final Thoughts

Marriott is finally launching one of its newest brands, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy. What makes this brand unique is that it will offer larger, residential-style apartments with a luxury twist — a significant upgrade from the Residence Inn concept that’s used in many cities worldwide.
