The new Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy brand is expanding significantly, with new hotels coming to Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

Here’s what you need to know!

Marriott has inked deals for several new Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy hotels on 3 continents. Let’s take a look at the upcoming properties:

  • Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy in Detroit: Scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2024, the 92-room property will also have a 500-square-foot fitness center
  • Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy in St. Louis: The 50-unit property will be co-located next to an upcoming Sheraton Hotel
  • Le Géant, an Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy property in Italy: This property will have 47 units
  • Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy in Sindalah, Saudi Arabia: The property will open this year and will offer a gym and pool. All units will have a separate living room, kitchen, and in-unit washer and dryer
Bottom Line:

The first Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy property has opened in Puerto Rico, Casa Costera, Isla Verde, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy. The hotel has 107 units with studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments and is 2.5 miles from San Juan International Airport (SJU).

“Marriott is thrilled to bring Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy to our development community around the world,” said Leeny Oberg, chief financial officer and EVP of development.

“As guests are increasingly blending work, personal, and family travel, they are looking for a distinct and locally inspired solution to meet their longer-stay needs,” Oberg continued.

Announced in 2022, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy is a new brand focused on the premium and luxury segment. All units offer separate bedrooms, living rooms, and a full kitchen.

Booking Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy

As mentioned above, Casa Costera, Isla Verde, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, is a brand-new hotel.

You’ll find rates at the hotel starting at $313 per night, or you could redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for an almost-free stay — rates start at 44,000 points per night for dates this spring. Those are pretty decent rates for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean at large.

Whether you book with cash or points, you’ll want to earn Marriott Bonvoy points at some point. It’s extremely easy to earn Marriott points (even if you don’t stay with the chain) because you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Both programs transfer to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio and will sometimes have limited-time transfer bonuses.

Additionally, there are a handful of Marriott co-branded credit cards with big welcome bonuses (when you complete minimum spending requirements) and even complimentary elite status.

Final Thoughts

Just a few weeks after the first Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy property opened, Marriott announced 4 new projects around the world. While we wait for these exciting hotels to open, take a look at the now-open Casa Costera, which is an excellent way to use Marriott Bonvoy points!
