The low-cost Avelo Airlines has announced a new route between Central Florida and Southern Connecticut.

Here’s what you need to know about the new route.

First Airline to Serve Lakeland International Airport in Over a Decade

Avelo will offer 2x weekly flights between Lakeland International Airport (LAL) and Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) on Thursdays and Sundays beginning June 13, 2024.

The airline will fly its Boeing Next-Generation 737 jet on the route.

Avelo is the first airline to serve Lakeland International Airport, located in Polk County, Florida, in more than a decade. The airport is conveniently located between the cities of Tampa and Orlando, giving travelers in the Central Florida region a new option for affordable flights to New England.

How to Book

Tickets are available and can be booked at aveloair.com. To celebrate the route, Avelo is offering one-way tickets starting at $72 through July 31, 2024, when booked by April 3.

As a low-budget airline, Avelo keeps prices low by offering ancillary purchases — like baggage and seat assignments — for an extra fee. If you’re flying on the airline, read up on the baggage fee policy to avoid paying more at the airport.
