Avianca has unveiled that it will be adding 4 new nonstop services from the U.S. to Colombia starting in December 2022. 

“Our customers were at the forefront of our minds with these new operations as they can now travel directly as we make rapid progress in the implementation of point-to-point routes that allow us to have an even more efficient operation,” said David Aleman, Director of Sales for Colombia and South American at Avianca.

Here’s what you need to know about these exciting new services to Colombia.

Avianca Adds 4 New Routes Between the U.S. and Colombia

Avianca is building out its Colombia-U.S. route network with 4 new routes to 3 cities that you might not even have heard of before: Bucaramanga, Pereira, and Santa Marta.

The services will be from Bucaramanga to Miami (starting December 8), Pereira to Miami and New York (starting December 8), and Santa Marta to Miami (starting December 10).

The schedules for each of the routes are as follows:

Pereira (PEI) — New York (JFK)Thursdays and Sundays (outbound) — 6:25 p.m. – 12:05 a.m. (+1)

Mondays and Fridays (inbound) — 1:55 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.

Santa Marta (SMR) — Miami (MIA)Tuesdays and Saturdays

Outbound: 3:10 p.m. – 6:00 p.m; Inbound: 11:00 a.m. – 1:50 p.m.

The route from Santa Marta to Miami will mark the only nonstop service between the Colombian city and the U.S. and make it easier for travelers hoping to visit the popular tourist spots of Minca and La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City).

With the addition of the new routes, Avianca will operate a total of 8 nonstop services between Miami and Colombia and 5 nonstop services between New York and Colombia.

Each of the new routes will be serviced by one of Avianca’s Airbus A320-family aircraft (pictured).

Starting in December 2022, Americans will have more ways than ever before to fly nonstop to Colombia.
