Chase’s British Airways Visa Signature® Card, Aer Lingus Visa Signature® Card, and Iberia Visa Signature® Card are now offering elevated welcome offers of up to 85,000 Avios after meeting minimum spend requirements.

Here’s what you need to know about the bonuses and features offered by each card.

New Welcome Bonus for Avios-Earning Credit Cards

All 3 credit cards are currently offering the same welcome bonus of 85,000 Avios after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months from account opening. This means, at the bare minimum, you will have 90,000 Avios after fulfilling the minimum spending requirements.

We value Avios at 1.25 cents each, which means you will have at least $1,125 worth of Avios, a solid 22% return on your initial spending.

There are many ways to redeem Avios for good value. Whether you’re looking to travel with your entire family in economy or treat yourself to business class tickets, the great thing about these offers is that each card comes with the same limited-time elevated bonus.

In addition, you have the option to transfer Avios between British Airways, Qatar Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus accounts, providing you with greater flexibility.

Annual Spend BonusEarn the Travel Together Ticket, allowing you to redeem Avios for 1 reward seat and bring a companion in the same cabin, even first class, and just pay the taxes and fees (requires $30,000 in card spend in a calendar year)Airline companion ticket good for an economy ticket after you spend $30,000 on the card in a calendar year$1,000 airfare discount voucher after you spend $30,000 on the card in a calendar year
Card Protections
  • Baggage delay insurance

All of the cards feature the same welcome offer, so when analyzing which card is best for you, consider which airline would fit your future travel plans the best. Each airline has different route networks, so finding which works for you could be a good start.

Additionally, consider how much you’ll be spending on the card. If you’re planning on spending heavily, you may want to consider the British Airways Visa card or the Aer Lingus card as they come with companion tickets. Moreover, you’ll already be 1/6th of the way there from the spending bonus, so those cards could work well if you travel with someone regularly.

Final Thoughts

Earning 90,000 Avios from 1 welcome offer in just a few months can be a great way to plan for upcoming travel in the summer or fall. Moreover, if you have a significant other you travel with often, consider having them apply for a similar card so you can earn even more. But, most importantly, be sure to have a plan to hit the welcome bonus requirement before you apply for a card.
