And you don’t necessarily need to live in New York to take advantage. If you’re elsewhere in the Northeast, it could make sense to position to New York by train, bus, or a cheap flight to take advantage of the 700-point award. Just be sure to factor in the additional cost and travel time. But at this price, the deal may be good enough to justify a little extra effort.

Do note that the lowest rates, starting at 700 points, are for JetBlue’s Main Base fare, the airline’s version of basic economy. However, for just 100 points more, you can book a Blue fare, which includes free seat selection and a carry-on bag, and you won’t have to pay change or cancellation fees if your plans change.

JetBlue TrueBlue points are very easy to earn thanks to the program’s numerous transfer partners. Chase Ultimate Rewards and Wells Fargo Rewards points transfer to JetBlue at a 1:1 ratio, while American Express Membership Rewards points transfer at a 1:0.8 ratio (though occasional transfer bonuses can boost that rate).
