Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

If you are looking to fly to Brazil in comfort, we’ve found excellent availability flying United Polaris business class to São Paulo and beyond.

These flights are nonstop from United hubs in the U.S. to São Paulo (GRU), but you can add on additional legs to cities like Rio de Janeiro for no extra cost.

Rio is famous for its beaches and São Paulo is the largest city by population in the Americas — and its skyline appears to never end. The dynamic metropolis boasts a long list of things to see and do, including world-class cultural institutions, charming neighborhoods, rousing nightlife, and much more.

No matter which city you choose, the long leg will be in one of our favorite business class products for just 60,000 miles.

Award Alert — The Details

Now, through September 2025, you can find saver award availability for flying United Polaris when booking via Air Canada Aeroplan.

This amount of availability is rare for United Airlines to Brazil, often only showing up for last-minute bookings. So, if you have some Brazilian travel on your radar, now is a great time to book.

Here are the details of what you can book:

Hot Tip:

If you find a date that is available to São Paulo (GRU) in business class, you can often connect to an additional city, like Rio de Janeiro (GIG), for no extra cost on a local airline like GOL or Azul. Just be aware that it will be in economy class for the final leg.

How To Book

The cheapest and easiest way to book these flights will be via Air Canada Aeroplan. However, some dates are also available using Copa Airlines ConnectMiles.

Both Air Canada and Copa will charge 60,000 miles, the only difference being that the taxes and fees via Copa will be cheaper at $5.60 instead of ~$56. United is charging 80,000 miles for the same flight.

But thanks to many transfer partners and the occasional transfer bonus to Aeroplan, it may make sense to pay the extra fees and book via Air Canada.

If you want to travel beyond São Paulo, search directly on Aeroplan and you can often get an extra flight on the same itinerary for no extra cost.

As mentioned, it’s not hard to earn Air Canada Aeroplan points. The airline’s loyalty program has several partners with which you can transfer points at a 1:1 ratio, including American Express Membership RewardsBilt RewardsCapital One miles, and Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Also, points can be transferred from Marriott Bonvoy at a transfer rate of 3:1. (Plus, for every 60,000 Marriott points that you transfer, you’ll receive an extra 5,000 Aeroplan points bonus.)
