Ever since the Waldorf Astoria New York reopened after an extensive renovation, award availability has been extremely limited. Standard room redemptions have been hard to come by, even for travelers willing to plan far in advance.

However, we found award availability from February through April 2027, with standard rooms available from 150,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Let’s take a look.

Book the Waldorf Astoria New York With Points

Since reopening following its multiyear renovation, the Waldorf Astoria New York has been notoriously difficult to book with points. Standard room award availability has been extremely limited, making the newly released award space in early 2027 all the more noteworthy.

If you’re looking to visit New York City and stay at this iconic hotel, we’re seeing widespread availability from February through April 2027, starting at 150,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Considering cash rates often start at $1,000 per night and climb higher, this is a prime opportunity to redeem Hilton Honors points and experience a Manhattan icon without paying full price.

Award nights can also be booked using Hilton free night certificates, such as those earned with the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. This makes it a smart option for points-savvy travelers.

How To Find Award Availability

You can use the Shop by Price function on Hilton’s website to see when standard award nights are available. Alternatively, to quickly check award availability, use calendar views via tools like Rooms.aero or MaxMyPoint.

The quickest way to earn Hilton Honors points is through credit card welcome offers. However, you can also top off your Hilton account by transferring points from American Express Membership Rewards at a 1:2 ratio (1 Amex point to 2 Hilton points).

Hot Tip:

Don’t have enough Hilton Honors points — or Amex Membership Rewards points to transfer? Through September 25, you can buy Hilton points with a 100% bonus. Depending on your dates, purchasing points for an award stay at the Waldorf Astoria New York could cost considerably less than paying the cash rate.

Final Thoughts

The Waldorf Astoria New York represents a rare combination of iconic history, a prime Manhattan location, and newly updated luxury.

While standard award nights are limited throughout 2026, availability opens up considerably from February through April 2027, giving Hilton Honors members a rare opportunity to redeem points or free night certificates at the newly restored property without paying sky-high cash rates.

If a New York City bucket-list stay is on your radar, now is the time to plan.
