Starting November 23, 2025, Bahamasair will launch nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to North Eleuthera (ELH), offering faster and more affordable access to one of the island nation’s most scenic regions.

Travelers now have another convenient nonstop option for reaching the gorgeous pink-sand beaches of the Bahamas. Bahamasair has launched twice-weekly seasonal service from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to North Eleuthera (ELH), operating every Wednesday and Sunday through January 4, 2026.

The under-1-hour flight creates an easy gateway to Harbour Island, Spanish Wells, and northern Eleuthera, home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches — including the Bahamas’ famous Pink Sands Beach.

North Eleuthera is the closest airport to Harbour Island. From the runway, travelers can be on the beach in as little as 25–35 minutes, thanks to a short taxi ride to the dock followed by a 10-minute water taxi. For many travelers, it’s one of the most seamless (and scenic) transfers in the Bahamas.

This route complements a growing network of short-haul flights from South Florida to the Out Islands. There is already strong service to other Bahamian gateways:

Miami to Nassau: JetBlue, Bahamasair, and American Airlines
Miami to Marsh Harbour: American
Fort Lauderdale to Freeport: Western Air
Stuart and Fort Lauderdale to North Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour: Tradewind Aviation (seasonal service)

However, when it comes to flying directly into North Eleuthera, which is the best access point to Pink Sands Beach, American Airlines has been the only major U.S. carrier offering nonstop service, doing so only from Miami (MIA).

Bahamasair’s new Fort Lauderdale route now gives travelers a second direct option to ELH, providing another convenient launchpad for reaching Eleuthera’s stunning beaches.
