When most people think of staying in the wilderness, they think of rugged hikes and small tents. While those kinds of trips are fun for some, they can keep travelers from seeing some of the most beautiful settings in the world.

That’s where glamping hotels come in, offering guests a chance to experience nature without giving up the luxuries they’re used to. Visiting the globe’s wilderness areas can be part of an accessible and comfortable getaway — here are some of the best properties immersed in nature.

Starting Nightly Rate: $251

Since 2013, AutoCamp Joshua Tree has been a go-to way for travelers to enjoy the wonder of Joshua Tree comfortably. Its glamping experience is a little different from a traditional tent thanks to the Airstream camper suites and cabins set up around the camp.

These Airstreams are climate-controlled, with private bathrooms and outdoor areas. So you can enjoy desert seclusion without giving up basic luxuries that can make camping in Joshua Tree less ideal. AutoCamp even hosts guest experiences to help elevate your trip, like guided hikes, meditation ceremonies, and morning yoga classes.

There’s an on-site eatery that’s open until 10 p.m. daily, and free granola is offered to guests in the morning. You can even relax with a drink in the evening at the AutoCamp Happy Hour. If you want to grab something before heading out on a hike, stop by the general store in the main lobby for water, snacks, or other necessities.

Hot Tip:

Thanks to a partnership between Hilton and AutoCamp, you can earn and redeem points for all 7 locations across the U.S. Award rates at the AutoCamp Joshua Tree start at 50,000 Hilton Honors points depending on the season.
