Bilt and Rakuten have announced a new partnership that allows members to convert cash-back earned from Rakuten purchases into Bilt Rewards points.

The collaboration, which launched today, November 6, introduces a fourth redemption option for Rakuten users and gives Bilt members another way to earn rewards on everyday purchases from thousands of retailers — just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.

Here’s how the new Bilt–Rakuten partnership works and why it might be worth your attention if you’re serious about earning more rewards.

Bilt Partners With Rakuten, Expanding Ways To Earn and Redeem

Bilt is now officially integrated into Rakuten’s payout options, becoming the fourth way users can receive cash-back rewards from the popular shopping portal. We suspected something was in the works when a “Bilt” option briefly showed up in Rakuten’s sign-up menu earlier this year — and now that partnership has officially launched.

As of today, shoppers can earn cash back from more than 3,500 retailers — whether through the Rakuten app (iOS, Android), browser extension, website, or directly within the Bilt Rewards app (iOS, Android) — and then convert those earnings into transferable Bilt points.

For the first 6 months, Bilt members will receive an introductory 1:1 conversion rate, where $10 in Rakuten Cash Back equals 1,000 Bilt points. That’s 1 cent per point, a competitive valuation given how Bilt points can be applied toward premium travel, rent payments, or other lifestyle redemptions.

After the introductory 6-month period ends, Bilt Rewards members with Blue status will receive 50 Bilt points for every $1 in Rakuten cash-back, while Silver, Gold, and Platinum Bilt Rewards members will continue to receive 100 Bilt Points for every $1.

To commemorate this new partnership, a 2,500-point welcome bonus is being offered to Bilt Rewards members who sign up for Rakuten through the Bilt app and make their first qualifying purchase of $25 or more.

Once accounts are linked, Bilt Points are deposited automatically during Rakuten’s standard quarterly payout schedule.

Hot Tip:

If you already use Rakuten for online shopping, switching your payout option to Bilt Points can provide you with significantly greater value than cash. Bilt Points can be transferred to travel partners like Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, World of Hyatt, and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club for redemptions that often exceed 2 cents per point in value.

Final Thoughts

This new partnership is a clear win for Rakuten users who prefer earning travel rewards over cash-back. Alongside American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards now gives shoppers another high-value option to convert everyday spending into transferable points, which is ideal for anyone looking to stretch their rewards toward flights and hotels.
