Bilt Rewards has added another transfer partner. This time, the latest option for using your points isn’t an airline or a hotel.

It’s now possible to send your Bilt Points to Amtrak Guest Rewards, the loyalty program of the largest train line in the U.S., serving more than 500 destinations in 46 states, as well as parts of Canada.

Transferring Bilt Points to Amtrak Guest Rewards

Bilt Rewards members can now transfer points to Amtrak Guest Rewards at a ratio of 2:1, effective today, September 23, 2026. Amtrak is the first ground transportation partner among Bilt’s transfer partners.

With this announcement, Bilt has become the only points transfer partner into Amtrak Guest Rewards, which is good news for those who enjoy train rides for fun or use Amtrak for daily commutes.

The minimum transfer amount is 1,000 points, and Bilt Points can be transferred in increments of 1,000. Using the 2:1 transfer ratio, every 1,000 Bilt Points yields 500 Amtrak Rewards points.

Most of Bilt’s transfer partners use a 1:1 ratio, where 1,000 Bilt Points become 1,000 hotel or airline points in the partner program. Amtrak joins a small list of exceptions, including 3:2 transfers to ALL – Accor Live Limitless and 1:2 transfers to Preferred Hotels and Resorts’ I Prefer program. Those are both hotel programs, so Amtrak is Bilt’s first nonhotel partner using a transfer rate that isn’t 1:1.

Redeeming Amtrak Guest Rewards Points

Amtrak Guest Rewards is free to join, and redemptions start at just 400 points. It’s also possible to make Points + Cash bookings, which start at just 100 points.

Amtrak doesn’t use a fixed award chart, so you won’t know the exact number of points needed for a trip until you start searching. That’s because pricing can vary by date, route, season, and popularity.

Amtrak serves numerous routes, offering everything from coach chairs, the standard economy seats, to first class and sleeper compartments. Offerings vary by train type and distance.
