Bilt Rewards has partnered with Wells Fargo & Company to issue a co-branded credit card to allow members to pay for their rent and earn points with no transaction fee at any rental property in the U.S.
Since its entrance on the market, Bilt Rewards has been a popular choice for renters. Until now, however, the Bilt Mastercard was available only by invitation. As of today, March 28, 2022, the Bilt Card is available without a waitlist.
Let’s take a look at what this news means — and if you should consider applying.
Wells Fargo Partners With Bilt Rewards and Mastercard
Bilt Rewards partnering up with Wells Fargo is a big deal. The bank has over 70 million customers and serves 1 in 3 households in the U.S. Now, millions of qualified renters will have the opportunity to earn Bilt Rewards.
With rent being the largest expense for many people, being able to earn points on it truly is a game-changer.
The 0-1-2-3 earning structure is not only popular because rent is included, but also because it’s competitive with almost any other travel rewards credit card on the market today. Here’s a look at what you can earn:
$0 annual fee
1x points per dollar spent on rent
2x points per dollar spent on travel
3x points per dollar spent on dining
1x points per dollar spent on other purchases
The only requirement is that you use the card at least 5 times each statement period.
Bilt Rewards Transfer Partners
Once you earn your Bilt Rewards points, you’ll realize just how valuable they are. While you can redeem them for things like fitness classes, items from the Bilt Collection, and even rent or mortgage credits, the real value lies in the program’s transfer partners.
Bilt Rewards is one of our favorite flexible-point currencies thanks to its strong list of patterns and 1:1 transfer ratios, which include:
Bilt Rewards also has elite tiers, allowing members to earn bonus points, gifts, and more. The more points you earn or eligible purchases you make, the higher the status level you can achieve:

Final Thoughts
The Bilt Card was already a great product for renters to have in their wallets. Bilt Rewards is one of the most competitive rewards programs out night now — and this partnership with Wells Fargo will hopefully only strengthen that.
Until now, the biggest drawback of Bilt Rewards was the waitlist, now that it’s available for anyone to apply, getting a Bilt Card should make sense for a lot of people.
Information regarding the Bilt Mastercard was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
