Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

If you’re thinking about traveling to Europe this winter or spring, there’s an excellent British Airways sale that can save you money on flights. The airline is running its annual New Year sale, and flights are as low as $500 round-trip from the U.S.

Plus, you’ll find deals in economy, premium economy, and business class with this offer.

Let’s take a look at the sale and the best ways to book your flights.

Fare Deal — Details

British Airways has launched its annual New Year sale, and there are some fantastic deals available across fare classes. We’re seeing deals from across British Airways’ network in the U.S., including Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), the New York City region (EWR and JFK), and San Francisco (SFO).

The cheapest economy deals start at around $490 round-trip, but if you want to splurge in fly in Club World business class, that’ll set you back around $2,600 round-trip.

Note that these deals have an expiration date: You must book by 11:59 p.m. EST on January 28, 2025.

If any deals catch your eye, take a look at available dates and prices at BA.com or Google Flights and then book directly with the airline.

  • Class: Economy
  • Routes: U.S. to the United Kingdom and Europe
  • Dates: January through May 2025
  • Rates: As low as $490 round-trip in economy or $2,600+ in business class

Hot Tip:

The cheapest tickets are in basic economy, which is the most restrictive. In basic economy, you’re limited to a single piece of hand luggage, and you’ll pay to pick your seat. These restrictions might be worth the hassle, given the cheap tickets, but if you want more flexibility, we recommend upgrading to standard economy.

How To Book British Airways New Year Sale Flights

The sale is available between January and May, and there’s ample availability from British Airways’ U.S. hubs. Note that not all flights on BA.com are included. You’ll need to search for flights that indicate “Sale.”

Once you’ve settled on your flights, you’ll want to book your flight using a credit card that rewards you for travel purchases. Some of our favorites include The Platinum Card® from American ExpressChase Sapphire Reserve®, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.

Or, if you fly British Airways often, we recommend keeping the British Airways Visa Signature® Card in your wallet.

Final Thoughts

This is an impressive sale from British Airways, largely because it covers so many destinations in North America and Europe. While the cheapest flights do have the most restrictions, sub-$500 round-trip tickets are hard to beat. If you’re interested, make sure to book before January 28!
