If you’re looking to boost your Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles balance (or turn those miles into Alaska Airlines miles), there’s good news. You can buy HawaiianMiles with a 50% bonus until May 21, 2025.

Should you buy miles with this offer? Let’s take a look at the details.

Buy HawaiianMiles Promotion Details

You can gift or buy Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles with up to a 50% bonus through May 21, 2025. According to the terms, bonus miles should post to your account instantly.

If you purchase at least 20,000 miles during this sale, you can buy miles for 1.87 cents apiece. However, this is a tiered offer, providing a better bonus the more you buy:

  • Buy 1,000 to 2,000 miles without a bonus
  • Buy 3,000 to 9,000 miles with a 30% bonus
  • Buy 10,000 to 19,000 miles with a 40% bonus
  • Buy 20,000 to 100,000 miles with a 50% bonus (1.87¢ each)

There are a few things you should know about this sale:

  • You must purchase miles in increments of 1,000.
  • There’s no bonus for purchases of 1,000 or 2,000 miles.
  • The maximum purchase is 100,000 miles (before the bonus).
  • There’s no annual limit on how many miles you can buy.
  • The sale runs through May 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. HST.
  • You can purchase miles here.

Normally, Hawaiian Airlines sells miles at $25 for 1,000 miles. That’s a price of 2.5 cents per mile.

Hot Tip:

Sales of HawaiianMiles are processed by Points.com, meaning it won’t code as an airfare purchase on your credit card. Thus, you should use your best credit card for everyday spending to maximize your earnings. However, the purchase website does say you’ll still earn 3x miles on the purchase if you use the Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard®.

Is It Worth It?

We value HawaiianMiles at 0.9 cents apiece. Buying miles at a price higher than that (1.87 cents each) doesn’t make sense in most situations.

However, there are 3 situations where buying HawaiianMiles can be a good move. The first is topping off your HawaiianMiles account if you’re just a few miles short of what you need for a redemption.

The second situation is when you can buy miles for less than the cost of buying a flight with cash. Got your eye on a flight that costs $1,000 but you can buy the miles for $850? That would make sense (assuming you’ve confirmed that award seats are available before pulling out your wallet).

The third is a more recent development. You can turn HawaiianMiles into Alaska Airlines miles, and the price to buy Alaska miles is typically higher — though through May 21, Alaska miles can be purchased with a 60% bonus for a slightly cheaper 1.85 cents apiece.

However, you may not need to buy miles. There are other options.

You can earn HawaiianMiles in numerous ways, including spending on the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite card and the Hawaiian Airlines® Business Mastercard®. Additionally, you can transfer Marriott Bonvoy and American Express Membership Rewards points to HawaiianMiles.

Final Thoughts

Through May 21, you can buy Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles with a 50% bonus. For most people, buying Alaska Mileage Plan miles during the concurrent 60% bonus sale is a smarter move, as you can then move the miles 1:1 into HawaiianMiles.
