Alaska’s Atmos Rewards is a valuable airline loyalty program thanks to its high-value airline partners, such as Cathay Pacific and Fiji Airways, and excellent redemption rates on American Airlines flights.

Given the number of possible redemptions you can book with Alaska points, purchasing the points needed for an award flight can save you some serious cash — even more so when you can buy them with up to a 100% bonus.

Here’s everything you need to know about this flash sale, including whether or not it’s a good deal.

Buy Alaska Airlines Points — Promotion Details

Through July 5, 2026, you may be targeted to buy Alaska points and receive up to a 100% bonus.

The bonus offer depends on how many points you purchase:

  • Buy 5,000 to 14,000 points and get a 80% bonus
  • Buy 15,000 to 29,000 points and get an 90% bonus
  • Buy 30,000+ points and get a 100% bonus (1.88 cents each)
  • Direct link to purchase

Purchases of fewer than 5,000 points don’t receive any bonus. If you maximize this promotion, you could purchase 100,000 points for $3,762.50 after taxes, taking home 200,000 points at a per-point cost of 1.88 cents.

Here are some important terms to keep in mind:

  • Transactions must be completed by July 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
  • You can purchase points from points.com for $27.50 per 1,000 points when there’s no sale on Alaska points.
  • This promotion is targeted, so the offer you see on your account may differ.
  • Points are non-refundable and do not count toward elite status.
  • Atmos Rewards elite member accounts have no annual limit on the number of points purchased or gifted through points.com. If you’re not an elite member, your account may only be credited up to 150,000 points acquired through points.com in a calendar year. Bonus points do not count toward the maximum total of 150,000 points.

We value Atmos Rewards points at 1.6 cents apiece, and even the best tier in this offer (a 100% bonus) costs more than that per point. That means you should have a specific redemption in mind before buying points. You should skip this offer unless you can redeem the points you purchase at a value of at least 1.88 cents each.

Hot Tip:

Points.com processes Alaska points purchases, so these won’t count as an airfare purchase on your credit card. Using a good credit card for everyday spending can help you maximize your earnings when purchasing Alaska points.

Should You Buy Alaska Points?

It can make sense to purchase Alaska points if you have a specific redemption in mind that you know will deliver more than 1.88 cents per point in value. It can also make sense if you’re on the cusp of a redemption but don’t have quite enough points to complete the booking.

For example, you can book a one-way ticket in Japan Airlines (JAL) business class from Tokyo-Narita (NRT) to San Francisco (SFO) for 75,000 Alaska points, plus just under $57 in taxes and fees.

To purchase the 75,000 Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards points at a cost of 1.88 cents each, you’d pay roughly $1,410 during this promotion. This is a sizable sum, for sure. But when you consider that the cash cost of this ticket is usually $3,000 to $4,000, you’re saving $1,600 to $2,600 to fly in one of the world’s nicest business-class cabins. That’s undoubtedly a great deal if you were considering purchasing the flight outright.

Final Thoughts

Buying Alaska points with up to a 100% bonus is appealing if you plan to book expensive business- or first-class seats. But as always, deciding whether to buy points and miles is situational.

It could make sense if you can redeem the points for more than they cost (and were otherwise going to buy the ticket with cash) to accrue. Therefore, consider calculating the numbers and evaluating your options before purchasing points.

The current sale ends on July 5, 2026.
