Qualifying for elite status with JetBlue requires earning tiles, and you can purchase tiles at a discounted rate for a limited time.

Typically, earning tiles toward elite status requires taking JetBlue flights, purchasing vacation packages, and spending on JetBlue’s credit cards. Now, there’s a simpler option.

Is the cost worth it? Let’s take a closer look to find out.

How To Earn Tiles Toward JetBlue Mosaic Status

The JetBlue TrueBlue program offers 4 levels of elite status, known as “Mosaic.” The tiers are Mosaic 1, Mosaic 2, Mosaic 3, and Mosaic 4.

Earning tiles is the only element required to qualify for Mosaic status at any level. There is no other element, such as spending a certain amount of money or taking a minimum number of JetBlue flights.

Qualifying for Mosaic 1 status requires earning 50 tiles in a calendar year. For Mosaic 2, you need 100 tiles, while you need 150 and 250 for Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4, respectively.

In addition to flying with JetBlue, you can earn tiles toward Mosaic status by booking JetBlue Vacations packages, using the Paisly by JetBlue travel booking portal (including Vrbo home rentals), and spending on JetBlue’s portfolio of credit cards.

In the past, we’ve seen offers to earn bonus tiles — and thus shortcut your path to Mosaic elite status — with Sustainable Air Fuel (SAF) contributions and cruises. It’s uncommon to be able to purchase tiles with a discount.

Buy JetBlue Tiles for Elite Status

You can purchase tiles with a 10% discount through July 21, 2025. Status earned through this offer is valid through the end of 2026.

It’s possible to purchase anywhere from 1 tile (for $103.52 after taxes) up to 250 tiles. The latter will cost an impressive $21,768.75. Put another way, you can purchase JetBlue’s top status and keep it from now through the end of 2026, but it will cost nearly $22,000 — no small sum.

So long as you purchase at least 176 tiles, you can lock in the best per-tile price of $87.08.

Here are the key terms you need to know for this offer:

  • You can’t purchase more than 250 tiles in a calendar year.
  • There’s a mandatory 7.5% tax on purchases.
  • Purchases are nonrefundable.
  • You can only purchase tiles for your account, not deposit them into someone else’s account.
  • Tiles will be deposited into your account within 72 hours of purchase.
  • Tiles count toward the status qualification year in which they were purchased.
  • The promotion ends on July 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Hot Tip:

JetBlue unveiled several changes to its TrueBlue program and Mosaic status this year, and it’s worth learning about those if you’re on the fence with this promotion, especially if you’re unsure whether you should buy tiles to move up to the next tier.

Final Thoughts

Spending nearly $22,000 to buy JetBlue tiles for top-tier Mosaic 4 status probably doesn’t make sense for anyone. That is, not unless you’ll fly with the airline a lot between now and December 31, 2026, when the status expires. Then, you would have numerous opportunities to enjoy the associated perks. You should still evaluate whether the high price tag is worth it.

For most people, buying tiles only makes sense if you’re just short of your elite status goal and need an easy solution for getting tiles at home. If you’re in that boat, you can purchase tiles with a 10% discount until July 21.
