I likely don’t need to convince you of the value of the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit CardInformation collected independently. Not reviewed by Capital One.. When it launched in 2021, it made a big impression with its $395 annual fee (rates & fees), which is relatively low for a premium travel card, and offers top-tier benefits.

But annual statement credits and airport lounge access aren’t the only reasons the Capital One Venture X card is worthwhile. This luxury credit card also gives access to the Premier Collection, which provides elite-style benefits at luxury hotels.

Let’s talk more about this underrated benefit and why it’s something you should always keep in mind when booking hotel stays.

What Is the Capital One Premier Collection?

Capital One didn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel with the launch of the Premier Collection. Similar to competing programs such as American Express’ Fine Hotels & Resorts and Chase’s The Edit, the Premier Collection seeks to offer luxury benefits on premium hotel stays.

What kind of benefits can you expect? The kind that smooth out your stay and elevate your experience:

  • $100 experience credit to use on your stay
  • Daily breakfast for 2
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Room upgrade
  • Early check-in
  • Late check-out

Anyone who’s ever chased hotel status probably recognizes these benefits — they’re a lot like the one’s you’ll get as an elite member. What’s nice about the Premier Collection is that you don’t need to stay many nights in a year to get status. You’ll simply book a participating hotel and receive perks upon arrival, which makes it a great option for those who don’t travel frequently.

The Premier Collection isn’t limited to hotels, either. While it’s somewhat limited, you can also book Premier Collection vacation rentals and still get a $100 credit on your stay. That’s unique within these kinds of programs and is definitely worth exploring if you want more space.

The Premier Collection is limited exclusively to those who hold either the Capital One Venture X card or the Capital One Venture X Business CardInformation collected independently. Not reviewed by Capital One..

The Premier Collection is distinct from the Lifestyle Collection, which offers similar (but fewer) benefits, including a $50 hotel credit and room upgrades, upon availability. The Lifestyle Collection is available to many different cardholders, including those who have the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit CardInformation collected independently. Hot Tip:

You’ll also earn 10x Capital One Miles when booking hotels with the Premier Collection with the Capital One Venture X card!

Why I Love the Capital One Premier Collection

I’ll readily admit that I am a sucker for hotel elite status. Every year, I spend months strategizing how I’ll requalify for World of Hyatt elite status, reach for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status, and justify the  $550 annual fee on the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (which gives you Hilton Diamond status just for holding the card).

The information regarding the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.

Suffice it to say that it would take a lot to sway me from staying at chain hotels in pursuit of elite status. But there are times where it makes sense, especially when I’m staying somewhere that doesn’t have a lot of good options for status.

In these cases, the Capital One Premier Collection comes in clutch. It may make me sound spoiled, but I really value the free breakfast that comes when you book this way. The room upgrades don’t hurt, either.

Another reason why I love the Capital One Premier collection? Those with the Capital One Venture X card and the Capital One Venture X Business card receive an annual $300 travel credit for bookings with Capital One Travel. This includes bookings with the Premier Collection, which I can easily apply it towards a Premier Collection stay. Best of all, there’s no minimum stay requirement for Premier Collection benefits to apply or for your travel credit to be used.

This means that less expensive stays can be basically wiped out, but you’ll still get all the credits and benefits that come with booking the Premier Collection.

In this example above, you’d end up paying just $159 out of pocket, but you’d still receive the free breakfast, $100 experience credit, and more.

Final Thoughts

Although I’m a hotel loyalist at heart, I really dig what Capital One has done with the Premier Collection. While it may not be my first stop when booking hotel stays, the benefits are well worth my time whenever I’m looking to book a hotel stay.
