Celebrity Cruises, one of Royal Caribbean’s luxury cruise brands, announced in a press release that as of next April, it will position 2 ships in its fleet exclusively for Caribbean sailings, opening up many more opportunities for cruisers.

According to Celebrity, this move will double the number of year-round sailings to the Caribbean, provide the line’s first-ever weekend Caribbean itineraries, and also open up the opportunity for Celebrity cruisers to experience Perfect Day at CocoCay — Royal Caribbean’s private island — for the first time.

“Our customers are consistently asking for more opportunities to visit this stunning region year-round, have more weekend options so they can get away easier, and have expressed a desire for a private island destination. By introducing this new program, we can meet this demand and offer something new and historic to all our guests,” says Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises. “Perfect Day is a destination like no other, and we are honored to add it to our portfolio.”

Let’s take a look at the details of Celebrity’s latest announcement.

Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Reflection Will Make the Caribbean Home

Starting in April 2024, both Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Reflection will sail to the Caribbean year-round.

Celebrity Beyond is the newest ship in the line’s Edge Series of ships — or “resorts at sea” as Celebrity calls them. It originally launched in April 2022 in Europe and November 2022 in North America, and offers a wide range of cutting-edge features, including 30+ food and beverage options, staterooms with “infinite verandas,” the AquaClass, and the industry’s first 2-level suites.

Come next year, Celebrity Beyond will sail from South Florida and will offer either 6- or 8-night sailings that will call at destinations including the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Mexico, and the “ABC” Islands: Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.

Meanwhile, Celebrity Reflection will also make the Caribbean its home as of next April. Having this ship in the region will allow Celebrity to offer Caribbean sailings every weekend of the year with its mix of 3- and 4-night trips.

Ports of call will include Key West and Bimini, and sailings on both ships will stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, giving Celebrity cruisers the chance to experience the private-island oasis for the first time.

About Perfect Day at CocoCay

Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private island located in the Bahamas. The island offers something for everyone, including white-sand beaches along clear turquoise waters, the largest freshwater pool in the Bahamas, a swim-up bar, North America’s tallest waterslide, and Up, Up, and Away, a hot-air balloon ride that provides unbelievable views of the stunning island.

In addition, there’s Coco Beach Club which features an infinity pool, a restaurant and bar, and numerous overwater cabanas. And in January, Hideaway Beach will open and offer guests an adults-only space complete with private cabanas and “a new signature food outlet.”

Final Thoughts

Celebrity Cruises has listened to the feedback of its customers who have been requesting more cruising opportunities in the Caribbean.

As a result, it’s moving to station 2 of its ships permanently in the area, which will also allow Caribbean sailings every weekend of the year as well as visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay for the first time!
