If you’re like me and juggle several Chase personal and business cards, you know how frustrating it can be to call Chase just to move credit limits between accounts.

Luckily, Chase is rolling out a new feature that lets cardholders shift credit limits online themselves — no more waiting on hold or sending secure messages. With just a few clicks, you may soon be able to manage your credit limits faster and easier than ever.

Here’s what you need to know.

How To Move Your Chase Credit Limit Online

To check if you have access to this new feature, log in to your Chase account online or open the Chase mobile app (iOS, Android). Select one of your Chase credit cards (this will be the card you want to move credit from), then click the “More” menu. If your account is eligible, you’ll see the option labeled Move credit line.

Chase is currently testing this feature, so it may not appear on your account right now. If you don’t spot it there, don’t worry — you can try this link. It takes you straight to the credit line management page. Once there, click Get Started, and you’ll be shown the cards to which you can move credit.

There are a few important limitations to note:

  • You can only move credit limits up to 3 times every 30 days.
  • Not all cards may be eligible to receive or send credit limit adjustments.
  • Credit can only be moved in $100 increments.
  • Your current balances and other factors, like account age and credit history, affect how much credit you can transfer.
  • Cards that are less than a year old are excluded from this feature.

Why You Might Want To Move Credit Between Cards

This new Chase feature is especially useful for cardholders with multiple Chase cards who want to better manage their credit utilization or prepare for large purchases on a specific card.

By shifting credit limits between cards, you can lower your credit utilization on higher-balance cards or boost spending power without triggering a credit inquiry. It also offers more convenience by letting you make changes online instead of calling customer service.

Hot Tip:

This new Chase feature is a game-changer for cardholders like those with The World of Hyatt Credit Card, which earns 2 elite night credits for every $5,000 spent. Now, you can easily move credit limits from other Chase cards over to your Hyatt card online — giving you more room to spend and rack up larger purchases, which translates to earning elite nights faster. This makes reaching top-tier Globalist status with credit card spending easier.

Final Thoughts

This new feature is a fantastic addition for Chase cardholders. It gives you the power to manage your credit limits across cards online and without the hassle of calls or messages.

As Chase continues rolling this out, it’s clear they’re focused on making credit management easier and more flexible for their customers. Keep an eye on your account — this handy feature could soon become an essential part of managing your Chase credit cards.
