One of the best premium travel credit cards is getting a major boost with its new publicly available welcome offer.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® has a huge 150,000-point welcome bonus after spending $6,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months. This welcome offer delivers 25,000 points more than previously available, making it a great time to apply for this elevated opportunity.

We’ll discuss who’s eligible for this welcome offer and potential ways to use 150,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Card’s New 150K-Point Bonus Offer

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has been around for a decade, and in that time, it’s steadily evolved into one of the strongest premium travel cards on the market.

Eligible new applicants can score a massive 150,000-point welcome bonus after you spend $6,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. It’s easily one of the most impressive bonus offers we’ve seen so far in 2026, especially considering that the previous welcome offer gave eligible applicants 125,000 bonus points.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are among the most valuable currencies, as we estimate their value at 2 cents apiece. That puts the 150,000-point bonus offer around $3,000 in travel value — nearly 4x the $795 annual fee.

Who’s Eligible for the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card’s Welcome Offer?

Before June 2025, you were limited to holding just 1 card within the Sapphire family at a time: either the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. To earn a new welcome bonus offer, you typically had to wait 48 months, downgrade your existing Sapphire card to a no-annual-fee Chase card, and then reapply.

However, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card received a refresh last summer, and with it came more flexible eligibility rules. Even if you currently have (or previously held) the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, it’s possible to qualify for a welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

Your eligibility will be clarified during the application process. If you don’t receive a pop-up message indicating you’re ineligible for the welcome offer, you can proceed with the application.

Chase Ultimate Rewards

It’s important to note, though, that Chase’s unofficial 5/24 rule still generally applies. This guideline typically prevents applicants from earning a new welcome bonus offer if they’ve opened 5 or more credit cards (from any issuer) in the past 24 months. It’s worth double-checking your status before applying.

Bottom Line:

There’s now an opportunity for Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders to earn a welcome bonus offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card (and vice versa). Just be sure you’re within Chase’s 5/24 guideline, and as you apply, watch for any pop-up message indicating you’re not eligible for the welcome offer.

Is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card Worth It?

As part of the Ultimate Rewards program, the card gives cardholders the flexibility to transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to more than a dozen airline and hotel partners. On the earning side, it also delivers up to 8x bonus points in key categories.

Though the $795 annual fee makes it among the most expensive cards available, Chase continues to grow its airport lounge network — a key perk important for frequent travelers.

At a time when competing cards are tightening guest policies, Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders can still access Chase Sapphire lounges and Priority Pass lounges with up to 2 guests, making it one of the more generous card options for airport lounge access today.

Other benefits, like a $300 annual travel credit, up to $500 in annual The Edit credits, and excellent travel and purchase protections, help cement it as a top contender among must-have travel cards.

How To Redeem 150K Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

Our favorite way to use Chase points is to take advantage of its wide network of transfer partners. You can transfer 150,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to 150,000 World of Hyatt points, 150,000 Air Canada Aeroplan points, and more.

Chase also occasionally runs transfer bonuses to improve the ratio above the 1:1 baseline. When these opportunities arise, it’s a good time to transfer points for even more value.

Over the past year, Chase has made meaningful upgrades to the Chase Travel portal. With the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you can typically get up to 2 cents per point in value when booking select flights and hotels. During limited-time promotions, that value can climb as high as 2.5 cents per point at eligible properties.

The value you get from 150,000 points depends on how you choose to redeem them. It’s reasonable to expect at least $3,000 in travel value, with the potential for even more depending on your strategy.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been thinking of applying for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, the opportunity to land 150,000 bonus points is a huge deal. It’s one of the strongest welcome offers we’ve seen in 2026 alone, and since eligibility rules have also loosened, it’s worth checking whether you qualify.
