Some Chase Sapphire Preferred^® Cardholders are receiving targeted upgrade offers to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card — and we’ve spotted offers as high as 75,000 bonus points. I received an upgrade offer of my own, too, although mine looked a little different.

Here’s what we’re seeing.

We’ve spotted multiple reports on Reddit from Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders receiving targeted offers to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

One of the best we’ve seen offers 75,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 within the specified timeframe following an upgrade. That’s significantly better than the 25,000-point upgrade offers that some cardholders reported receiving earlier this year. These offers are highly targeted, so there’s no guarantee you’ll receive one.

I’ve actually been wanting to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve card back in my wallet for more than a year. I first had the card when it launched in 2016. But until now, I hadn’t received an offer to upgrade my Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

That finally changed today. Unfortunately, my targeted upgrade offer didn’t include any bonus points — though I still took it. The process couldn’t have been easier. I clicked the link in my Chase email and completed the upgrade in less than a minute, with no hard pull.

I’m well over Chase’s 5/24 limit and don’t expect to fall under it anytime soon, so applying for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card isn’t an option for me. Upgrading allowed me to get the card — and perks like its $300 annual travel credit, $300 annual StubHub credits, and up to $500 The Edit hotel credits, among its many other benefits — without opening a new account or waiting to get under 5/24.
